HE IS RISEN!! Hallelujah!!

HE IS RISEN!!

For thousands of years, Christians have celebrated the reality-shattering moment that we recognize today, the divine gift that God made to repair the union between Himself and mankind, because our feeble efforts were incapable of even approaching His perfect being.

Today, we celebrate that Christ died for our sins, took them up on Himself, and arose three days later in defeat of death, to the greater glory of God, to draw our unworthy souls to a merciful, loving Creator.

It is Easter.

Mathew 28 describes the miraculous blessed gift God gave to each one of us:

Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus *said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Now while they were on their way, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened. And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, and said, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’ And if this should come to the governor’s ears, we will win him over and keep you out of trouble.” And they took the money and did as they had been instructed; and this story was widely spread among the Jews, and is to this day.

But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

We hope that each one of you takes a moment to reflect on the greatest gift given to mankind, to each of us, this day. If you have not accepted this gift, we hope and pray you come to that decision and receive freedom from sin, and everlasting love. All freely given.

For those of us who acknowledge the greatness of God’s mercy, let us celebrate!!

For HE IS RISEN!!!

God bless you all!! Have a happy Easter, from us all at the Right Scooooop!!

Chris Tomlin – Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
    https://youtu.be/KKo3T0j9qqo

    1. Amazing Grace has always been my favorite hymn. I still wonder at the love of God who can love a wretch like me.

Did you know:Amazing Grace was written by a former slave trader John Newton?

Once sailing a ship full of slaves from Africa his ship was hit by a fierce storm… Newton feared for his life and got down on his knees and begged the good Lord to spare his life..He promised the Lord that if he would only spare his life he would change his ways a stop trading slaves..

The storm calmed down and Newton wrote the song Amazing Grace, full of sorrow and love and hope that he would be forgiving of his sins. One of the most powerful songs ever written.

      1. Happy Easter Marge. Chris Tomlin tells the story in one of his song versions of Amazing Grace about John Newton , God’s grace in mighty

Easter Blessings to each and everyone in our Rightscoop family!

  11. Thanks, Soopermexican, for the awesome post and great reminder! We sang all resurrection hymns this morning in church. Hallelujah, Christ arose!

  12. A Blessed Easter to you all.

This is a good day to read and reflect on the Apostles’ Creed, as recited in your church. Each and every word in it was carefully considered, long debated, and summarizes the very heart of Christian faith.

I was reading an article about the Middle Ages, and it featured the new BCE/CE notation instead of the classic BC/AD notation. I reviewed the arguments and found them all to be flimsy excuses.

We live in the Year of Our Lord, 2019. It matters not if the supposed year 0 is off by a few years, or disputed. We use the Gregorian Calendar, and its year numbering was centered on the incarnation of Christ.

    So I’m not switching.

  13. Blessings to all, “And he saith unto them, Be not amazed: ye seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who hath been crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold, the place where they laid him!”

  14. Many blessings for all of you.

In the spirit of having faith, my family had a rough week. My dad had a triple bypass surgery and had a few scary days. I was reminded to keep the faith because God is in control.

Now it looks like my dad gets to go home tomorrow.

    1. @CrusGal – I had triple-bypass four years ago in February and am still going strong.

God has let me celebrate 4 Easters since then for which I am endlessly grateful. I will pray for your Dad. The surgery is scary and the recovery has it’s ups and downs but it’s a journey well worth the time and the effort.

    2. Recently lost my husband and I know how scary it is when death comes close! Losing my husband I know it is all about the ones you love…Bless your Dad and love him…glad he is safe!

    3. @CruzGal So happy to hear that your dad is doing okay and coming home soon. God is good.

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE. WE WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT! Psalm 118:24

      1. Amen. Heard someone say Christianity is the only religion which serves a living God. That’s really something to rejoice about. Hope you and your family have a blessed day.

    1. Thank you for that wonderful Psalm! I say it every morning when I wake up. I had a triple bypass and wasn’t sure I had many days left. Now I am grateful for each one. And grateful for another Easter to celebrate the resurrection. Favored beyond all deserving.

I am sad for those who don’t believe that thus will never know a love that surpasses all others.

      1. Glad you’re doing well. Yes, life is precious and the eternal life the Lord provides even more so. May all come to believe and be saved. Be blessed my friend; you and your family.

        1. The same to you @sjmom ! Some of us are thicker than others and need a nudge to realize just what we have. I certainly know it now and am grateful for every day.

Something to reinforce your faith, or pass on to skeptics this Easter (contains the latest scientific analysis):

    1. Thank you so much for the link…I dearly love info around the Shroud of Turin!!! Blessed Easter to you as well, @thomas-aquinas !

      1. It’s mind-blowing, and more is discovered every decade. Some of the amazing facts in this lecture:

-Scientists have finally determined that the image was created by a burst of billions of watts of LIGHT that occurred for just billionths of a second. A light burst powerful enough to create a photographic image on linen would exceed the energy output of all of the lasers existing in the world today, combined.

-There are images of Roman coins on the eyes of the “man of the Shroud.” Experts had determined that the coins were Roman leptons. But the lettering was unusual. One letter was different from leptons existing among coin collectors. In the last thirty years, several of these coins have been discovered. These coins were special mintings done under the reign of… Pontius Pilate. (!)

-The 1988 carbon dating is erroneous because the sample taken from the Shroud in 1988 came from a section of the cloth that was a 15th century cotton patch. The Shroud is linen. Scientists discovered that in the 15th century nuns repaired an area of the cloth by unravelling the bordering linen threads and intertwining the linen threads with cotton threads, dyed to match the surrounding linen. Cotton did not even exist in the Middle East during Jesus’ time.

-Bloodstains on the Sudarium of Oviedo (Spain), or the “Facecloth of Christ,” have 144 points of correspondence with the blood on the head of the man in the Shroud of Turin (Italy). The blood on both cloths is type AB.

And the list of facts goes on and on.

        1. Yes! Watched the entire video, fascinating. I think we had this discussion once before; I mentioned the Shroud of Turin Center in Colorado Springs..it’s been awhile since I’ve been down there, but had the pleasure of attending a 2 day lecture by John and Rebecca Jackson several years back..I couldn’t get enough of it!!
