Obama was asked about the violence in Israel during his presser today and he basically gave another mealy-mouthed statement about both sides having to tamp down the violence:
Obama is talking about of both sides of his mouth again. He says Israel has a right to protect itself from ‘knife attacks’ and ‘violence on the streets’, but he doesn’t even mention it’s the Palestinians that are doing it.
Obama also says that Netanyahu and Israeli elected officials should tamp down on rhetoric that feeds the violence? Yes, he mentions Abbas too, but the idea that he is suggesting that Netanyahu and Israeli elected officials are saying stuff that is feeding the violence is ridiculous. As Bibi said yesterday, NOTHING justifies these murderous attacks.
He’s doing the typical moral equivalence in order not to point the finger at the real terrorists here, the Palestinians and their elected officials. And it’s disgusting.
