The Defense Department today said that over the course of the entire evacuation of Afghanistan, they’d gotten 5,400 Americans out among the 122k people who’ve been airlifted out:
Pentagon official gives update on Afghanistan:
– Approximately 1,200 people evacuated yesterday
– 28 flights departed Kabul airport in last 24 hours
– More than 122,000 people evacuated as of today, including 5,400 American citizenshttps://t.co/SHvc66ZYJ3 pic.twitter.com/vWt5NrpBDX— World News Tonight (@ABCWorldNews) August 30, 2021
5,400 Americans strikes me as a pretty dang low number considering they estimated 10-15k in Kabul alone a couple of weeks ago. I’ve read that they’ve revised that number to about 6,000 Americans who want to leave Afghanistan, not counting those who apparently want to remain.
Even so, it looks like we’re still leaving Americans behind and that is completely unacceptable. Biden’s cowardly refusal to force the deadline past August 31 will likely result in Americans being killed or taken hostage by the Taliban because we didn’t get them out.
Which brings me to my next video, where Kirby says the military won’t be involved in rescuing Americans left behind:
The State Department will work with Americans who want to leave Afghanistan after the August 31 withdrawal, and U.S. military is not expected to have a role in those efforts, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby says https://t.co/Nj065CIsxp pic.twitter.com/9eim8M1tNx

Kirby was asked by Jennifer Griffin why Americans weren’t evacuated before pulling out:
.@JenGriffinFNC to Kirby: "If 5,800 Americans were left in Afghanistan when you pulled out of Bagram at the end of July, why did the U.S. Military not begin evacuations of Americans before pulling out of the country?"Kirby: "Jen, we've talked about this quite some time ago." pic.twitter.com/fF42wOsPOX

Kirby claims that the timing of evacuations are always ‘delicate’ and that they didn’t expect Kabul to fall so quickly. In other words, he’s claiming ignorance again on knowing that Kabul would rapidly fall.
Griffin also asked another good question: Were the ISIS-K terrorists we killed being held in Bagram?
.@JenGriffinFNC: "These ISIS-K fighters or planners you targeted w/drone strikes…were they released from the Bagram prison or from Pul-e-Charkhi prison. Were they known combatants who were inside those prisons?"
Kirby: "I don't think we have that information." pic.twitter.com/QY2NW33USu

Kirby claims he doesn’t know? The Pentagon should have all the records of who was at Bagram and they should definitely know who they killed the other day with a drone strike. It’s not hard to do a quick lookup to find out, and how scandalous it will be if these ISIS-K terrorists that killed American service members were actually at the Bagram Air Base that the US abandoned. That’s why they don’t want to answer that question.
Lastly, here’s a great question from a reporter saying if the US knew when and where the ISIS-K terrorist attack would happen last Thursday, why were Americans at that location?
REPORTER: "The U.S. knew roughly where the attack would take place on Thursday and when it would take place. Why were there U.S. troops at that gate at that time?"
KIRBY: "We're not going to investigate it in public." pic.twitter.com/e3crdwBs1B

Kirby refuses to answer this based on the fact that this intel Politico reported on was ‘unlawfully’ leaked to the media. Yeah right. This may end up being another big embarrassment for the Pentagon if it turns out that this intel is true and they simply refused to act.
