Here’s the worst highlights from Biden’s interview with ABC News about his epic failure in Afghanistan

Yesterday we learned that both Defense Secretary Austin and General Milley had warned Biden against a quick withdrawal, with Milley wanting to leave a fighting force of troops in Afghanistan and Austin warning that a full withdrawal could destabilize the country.

But in the interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Biden said none of this is true:

When Stephanopoulos first posits this question about his top military advisors wanting to leave troops in the country, Biden said “no they didn’t, it was split.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if “it was split”, doesn’t that mean at least some of them wanted to leave troops in the country? But Biden then claims categorically that nobody advised him to leave troops in the country.

To me this is a tell that Biden is lying again. After all, he had intelligence that the Taliban would take over in ‘weeks’ but ignored it. I think it’s clear he ignored this too and is now claiming his advisors never said it to cover his you know what.

In the clip below, Biden once again claims he had no intelligence that the Taliban would take over this quickly – “not even close”, and then claimed that sending 6,000 troops to re-secure the airport and get people out amid all the chaos was part of his original plan:

If this is how Biden planned to get people out, then it’s another reason he should be impeached. He claimed the other day that they planned for every contingency, but that’s clearly not true given the fact that we are now at the mercy of the Taliban to allow Americans to get to the airport safely. He now wants to make it sound like this was all part of the plan? Puhlease. Just resign already.

In another clip from the interview, Biden claims the Taliban are undergoing an existential crisis when asked if he believes they have changed:

Biden claims he puts no faith in this potential evolution, but regardless he seems to believe it’s happening.

As proof for this change, he suggests that no one would have believed the Taliban are providing safe passage for Americans to get out, but that’s not what we’ve been seeing on the ground there. I’m not sure what he’s talking about.

Stephanopoulos also brought up the 20th anniversary of 9/11 coming up in a couple weeks and suggested that the Taliban will again be ruling Afghanistan like they were when we were attacked. He asked Biden how he’s going to explain that to the American people:

This is actually a great question. But Biden rejects the premise saying “not true, it’s not true that they are going to look just like they were when we were attacked.”

Biden then justified this with some weird explanation about how we only went into Afghanistan to take out Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and since we did that, there’s no way Afghanistan will look like it once did.

But Biden is lying again, leaving out another big reason we went into Afghanistan, which was to prevent the Taliban from making the country a safe haven for terrorist groups to train there, which is exactly what happened before 9/11. Now the Taliban are in full control of the country again and Stephanopoulos is right about the country looking like it did 20 years ago when we were attacked.
