“I think it’s a lot of crap,” said Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus when Neil Cavuto asked him about Biden’s claims that tax the rich is the solution to all of America’s problems.
“I don’t mind paying taxes,” he says, “But I DO mind giving my money to government.”
I know what he means exactly. The being taxed part, the money doesn’t hurt him, that’s not the problem. It’s not, for a guy like him, about taxes making it hard for him to get by, or that he’s just unwilling to have less money to dive into in his Scrooge McDuck vault. What hurts him is what the government does when THEY get it.
He lists examples of the things he has done with his money compared to what the Democrats plan to do with it.
And then says the dang truth, which is that even two more years of Biden is too much.
“I think it’s a lot of crap. First of all, you know what? I don’t mind paying taxes, but I don’t mind. Yeah, I do mind giving my money to government. If you look at all the things I’ve done and all of the things that some of the other wealthy people have done, I built hospitals, I’ve built traumatic center centers, emergency centers, built an aquarium for people. I built so many things. Then put money into medical research. I don’t want the money going to the government to spend on nonsense, on stupid things, which they do. I’d rather control my own money. And if they want to tax me, tax me. But they’re not going to – they’re going to open up more industries like the wind farms that are killing all the whales, all the things that they do that they think are right. We’re going to take all motorized cars off the road and put electric cars on the road. Well, we don’t have enough stations to to to recharge these cars. Nobody is thinking in terms of 5, 10, 15 years from now. If — two more years of this administration is two more years too much!”
“If we go with two more years of this, God knows what’ll be left,” he said. I feel that so much.
That’s him saying we have to do more than just plan for 2024. The congress has to put a stop to the freight train of doom. We need impeachment. It won’t remove Biden but it will be a crucial part of any strategy to both grind him to a halt and make clear that the country rejects this Marxist takeover.
We can’t wait, in other words, to act. The GOP can’t. These recent hearings are a good step but they need to step it UP.
Marcus also succinctly pointed out what so many voters do not realize or understand. The obligations, the debt, the spending that Democrats are dragging everyone into? That won’t just mean tax the rich. It’s going to be tax EVERYBODY more. A LOT more.
And yes, of course, he weighed in on 2024. He praised Trump above in that first clip. He also honestly and correctly notes some changes Trump can make in his — let’s call it presentation — if he wants to win in 2024.
But he also praised the other candidates too. Not just Gov. DeSantis but Mike Pence and Nikki Haley, and the field in general. He makes the best argument of all for every candidate, which is that any candidate is better than Biden.
Cavuto: Is Donald Trump, is Donald Trump, Bernie, your candidate? Is he the one you’re backing? Donald Trump?
Marcus: Well, there are a lot of — he’s got some great people running. We have Donald Trump, we have our governor in Florida. We have the vice president. We have Nikki Haley. There are some great talents…
Cavuto: Do you have a favorite of the, of that group? Who’s your favorite?
Marcus: No, at this point I’m going to wait and see. Look, I said, I think that Donald Trump had great policies. But with the policies comes Trump. And if he can’t discipline himself, he’s not going to be a good president. He won’t be elected. What’s the use of running if he can’t be elected? He’s got to change the way he conducts himself. And if he does and brings back the policies, or any other Republican that comes in is going to do the same thing, have very strong economic policies, and bring this country back to where it should be oil sufficient, energy sufficient, and an inflation that will be down because it’ll bring the interest rates down.
i mean, look, Bernie Marcus is some big flashy name, he doesn’t do controversial tweets or get into gossip rags. He’s not an MSNBC bogeyman. He doesn’t stir the news cycle. But this was a GREAT interview with some excellent insights and amusing comments and some daggon TRUTH.
