Hospital president says there is NO crisis at his New York hospitals due to COVID, that everyone should CALM DOWN

Yesterday CNN had on the president and CEO of Northwell Health, which runs at least 22 hospitals in New York State and he dropped some interesting news:

Michael Dowling said there is no crisis at his extensive network of hospitals. He said they only have about 460 patients right now, which is less than 10% of their overall capacity.

He said they do expect an increase in patients after the holidays, but that it’s very manageable and nothing to worry about.

Dowling then argued that people need to calm down and be more rational through this Omicron surge, noting that while positive cases are increasing dramatically (partly due to increased testing), that doesn’t mean it will automatically convert into hospitalizations.
