Democrat Congressman uses stocking and coal as props on House floor

Have the Democrats yet made a single substantive argument on the House floor in favor of the payroll tax cut extension? Or is it just non-stop demagoguery? Earlier we were treated to Sheila Jackson Lee’s puzzling yarn about exploding Christmas tree lights, and now here we have Rep. Jim McDermott (D-CA) using a stocking and a lump of coal as props as he smears Republicans as Scrooges.

Also, notice the way these Democrats always just presume to know what people have spent their payroll tax cut on, and act as if the $1,000 (on average) was returned all at once to each working American. My guess is most people barely noticed any difference in their paycheck; in any case, I doubt many ran out and bought an extra $1,000 in Christmas presents as a result.
