House Democrats pass $4.5 billion partisan funding bill for migrant crisis, but hardly any Republicans voted for it and here’s WHY

House Democrats pass a $4.5 billion funding bill to deal with the Humanitarian migrant crisis at the border, however only three Republicans voted for the bill and four Democrats did not:

As you might have guessed, Democrats passed a bill that they knew wouldn’t get bipartisan support which will create problems trying to mesh it with a bipartisan $4.6 billion dollar Senate bill already in progress.

Democrats denied any funding to ICE and refused to fund investigations into human trafficking, which we all know is a huge problem at the border. They also didn’t provide anything to help stop the crisis from happening:

The measure provides $60 million for nonprofit organizations to find nondetention housing for illegal immigrants.

The measure provides nothing to help stem the influx of the more than 100,000 illegal immigrants who have been apprehended on the border each month.

The measure also withholds additional funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and withholds funding sought by the GOP to investigate human trafficking that has been widely employed to smuggle children across the border.

The GOP-led Senate isn’t likely to consider the House bill.

As I pointed out, the Senate has their own bill. And when I say the Senate bill is bipartisan, that’s because it passed with a vote of 30-1 in the appropriations committee last week. Why can’t the House do the same?

At the end of the day, it seems unlikely that the House and Senate will be able to agree on a bill that passes before the end of the month when funding runs dry.

  1. Ok Trump…you gave them the rope to hang themselves by showing the country exactly who they are. Now reinstate the mission to deport 2,000 illegal families pronto.

  2. The Democrats have little to no interest in stopping the most fantastically successful voter registration drive ever devised in their entire deplorable history.

  3. The good news is that life here is brief. And that all bureaucrat jackasses who confiscate earned money and waste at their lunatic discretion will have a price to pay in eternity.

  4. Trump gave them a chance and this is what they did with it. They’re making a joke of the process. The House bill has zero chance of passing. They just handed Republicans a baseball bat to beat the crap out of them next year.

Basically they want to shut down border control and allow everyone in. No problems, we’ll pay for accommodations at five star hotels. This is not going to go well for Democrats next year. Idiots.

  5. As a very hard working taxpayer, I DO NOT want to pay for this. I do NOT want to pay any of my money for ILLEGALS! Period! This is a disgusting abuse of taxpayers money. Where is OUR voice! This crap needs to stop N O W!

I would however, pay for OUR OWN Vets & 911 responders suffering. They should be first before these criminal illegals!!!

“I would however, pay for OUR OWN Vets & 911 responders suffering. They should be first before these criminal illegals!!!”

Vets & 9/11 responders should also come before the criminals in Congress. It’s a sad state of affairs when these HEROES are ignored after putting their lives on the line for us. My heart breaks for each & every one of them.

  6. $60M out of $4.5B? Where’s the rest of it going?

The bill contains more than $1 billion to shelter and feed migrants detained by the border patrol and almost $3 billion to care for unaccompanied migrant children who are turned over the Department of Health and Human Services. It seeks to mandate improved standards of care at HHS “influx shelters” that house children waiting to be placed with sponsors such as family members in the U.S.

    Oh.

So, basically it’s a slush fund to DHHS. OK.

  7. 60mil for non profits?
Doesn’t Mad Maxine have a non profit? Maybe it’s her daughter.
    Hmmmm..

  9. I am sure this President will red line out all the spending from both Bills that he feels is unnecessary.,like everything but a couple of bucks.

  10. I’m with VD Hanson, we should use empty university dorms to house the immigrants temporarily. The libtard professors can volunteer their summer vacation to take care of them.

  12. Corruptocrats pass bill to allow easier entry into the USA for drug cartels, human smugglers, violent criminals, terrorists, child sex traffickers and illegals accompanied by a “rent a child” mule.

What difference does that make. The Senate REPUBLICAN bill is just as bad. This is ALL of Congress aiding & abetting an invasion.

  13. House Bill by Dems / Senate Bill by Republicans….. all for the benefit of ILLEGALS.

Apparently Congress doesn’t understand that AMERICAN citizens are sick & tired of supporting/picking up the tab for MILLIONS who choose to break our laws.

It makes me wonder how much time/effort Congress spent putting these bills together &, AS USUAL, Governments solution to ANY problem is to simply “spend more money”…..not theirs, of course, but OURS.

How hard is it to write a 1 page bill
-denying any/all rights to those who enter our country illegally &
-allowing BP to arrange IMMEDIATE deportation.

    1. “It makes me wonder how much time/effort Congress spent putting these bills together”

My guess…ZERO…lobbyist are the ones who are writing all the bills these days. I guarantee not one member of congress knows what is in the bills they pass, if they do, it’s because if benefits their district.

San Diego, CA was just given it’s “regional housing needs assessment” from the state. The state is requiring the city/county to come up with 171,685 units by April 2029. Our neighborhood (11 square miles) is being informed that we will get the lions share of more than 11,000 new housing units. My only question, that has NEVER been answered in the several meetings i have attended, how many of the units will be taken up with illegal aliens? The governor says we have a housing crisis, he refuses to believe we have a crisis at our southern border. But, he wants 3 million housing units by 2025, we have more than 2.5 million illegals safely harbored in our state…you do the math. All this while US citizens are sleeping in the streets in tent cities ALL ACROSS THE STATE.

  15. Why doesn’t he use some of the money he got from declaring an emergency at the border to take better care of the kids while they are detained? It would be better politically and also the right thing to do.

    1. the right thing to do would be to follow the laws already on the books and demand immigrants seek asylum in the country they first cross into. Immigrants from South America should never get to the USA in order to illegal enter our country.

    1. If trump had delivered on some or just one of his immigration enforcement promises the base wouldn’t have been demoralized and the gop would have kept the house. Wait til 2020…

  16. Can you imagine not wanting to fund human trafficking which is, among other things, a direct lead in to child prostitution?
    “Democrats- The New Pimps”
Does that fit on a bumper sticker?

    1. Sadly, Ronbo, outside of the horrific plight of these children is the stark fact that there are enough disgusting perverts in this country to make child prostitution a viable and lucrative business. Same with illegal drugs (which are often used in and along with the commission of sex crimes). My biggest question is “What the H**L is wrong with Americans?!!!” Since when do we need drugs, alcohol and powerless people like little kids to exploit and since when did we give up our strength and goodness to be one of the leaders in some of the most disgusting habits ever???!!! Getting high, getting plastered and sticking our heads in and up our crotches by any means necessary seem to be the major pastimes of Americans anymore. I know there are many who don’t do those things and doing them moderately and in a safe traditional way are not my issue here. What my issue is when those things start ruling our lives and destroying the very moral and social fabric of this country we need to start addressing the real elephant in the room and that is the rampant lust and libertinism that is raging in this country. Sorry for the rant and it’s not directed at you but America needs to wake up to the fact that if there was no need for prostituting of poor women and children, illegal drugs, cheap exploitative labor, etc., then much of this whole border thing wouldn’t even be a problem.

    2. add to it their need for planned parenthood to do away with any unintended consequences. 😡

  17. Corruptocrats pass bill to allow easier entry into the USA for drug cartels, human smugglers, violent criminals, terrorists, child sex traffickers and illegals accompanied by a “rent a child” mule.

  18. Democrats aren’t serious. They have no intention of stopping the flow or fixing the problem. They are using the Cloward and Piven playbook to wreck America. They are monsters imo.

    1. It’s not that Democrats are not serious. They’re deadly serious. It’s just that they need these +/-40,000,000 illegals in the country and on the census (without a citizen question) in order to maintain their hegemony.

Without those 40 million illegals, Texas stands to gain seats, while California stands to lose about 20, and New York about 15.

This is all long-game planning by the Democrats. A level of planning we Republicans don’t seem to be capable of.

      1. @texas-chris Under the orders of their overlords in the Chamber of Commerce, the Republicans aren’t putting up a fight.

    1. @david_rollhotmail-com
What difference does that make. The Senate REPUBLICAN bill is just as bad. This is ALL of Congress aiding & abetting an invasion.

  19. Would it not be only 10% of $4.5 billion to fly all these people first class to Guadalajara? Seriously? $4.5 billion? It’s wasted money since nothing will be fixed. Everybody pony up $13 to pay for this. Oh, wait. Not everyone pays taxes. Everyone pony up about $30-$35 for this.

  20. As outrageous as the house bill is, as Sam mentions down below, the bipartisan senate bill is equally as bad as it’s all about resettlement funding and next to nothing on security. Typical D.C. Smoke and mirrors from both parties.

  21. The fact that House democrats “refused to fund investigations into human trafficking,” which is another word for slavery, just tells us all (those who pay attention, anyway) that the democrats have no intention of fighting FOR the American people and it also tells us that demonrats are somehow benefiting from this horrible sin that is human trafficking! HOW CAN ANYONE in the 21st Century treat fellow human beings this way?!

    1. If trump had delivered on some or just one of his immigration enforcement promises the base wouldn’t have been demoralized and the gop would have kept the house. Wait til 2020…

  23. I follow Tim Ballard (head of Operation Underground Railroad ourrescue.org ) on Instagram, and today he posted about his appearance on Neil Cavuto’s show on Fox, talking about this. He said “the reasoning behind the way this bill was written is to create an environment where law enforcement can’t deport those who are claiming these innocent kids.”

He went on to explain how these illegals are given a “child and a phone number” to call when they arrive in this country, but they don’t even know who they’re calling. And the child is just allowed to go with them. Then he said “if a child was found in New York City, would anyone be allowed to just pick them up without vetting them first?”

Ballard has testified before Congress numerous times. Why won’t they listen to him?

    1. Because it does not serve democrats and rinos interests…we have to find out what benefit they are receiving with human trafficking, the influx of drugs that kill, etc. Exactly what are politicians getting for this harmful behavior? America has become a modern-day Sodom & Gomorrah!

  24. Democrats aren’t serious. They have no intention of stopping the flow or fixing the problem. They are using the Cloward and Piven playbook to wreck America. They are monsters imo.

    1. Some RINO always convinces him not to do what he promised to do; those RINOs, along with all democrats, must go.

      1. @charli I don’t know if that’s the case or if Trump wanted to give Dems a chance since he had been pushing for them to act. It would have looked bad on Trump. Now they have shown their asses.

I’m not saying that’s the case for sure, but there is strategy behind most of what they do so it’s a possibility. Or….some stupid RINO convinced him to deal with the Democrats. 😉

  30. Trump gave them a chance and this is what they did with it. They’re making a joke of the process. The House bill has zero chance of passing. They just handed Republicans a baseball bat to beat the crap out of them next year.

    1. I hope you are right, kong, but it seems too many Americans are simply not paying attention.

      1. @charli Democrat voters won’t care whether they are paying attention or not. However, Independents do pay attention.

    2. Eckhart Tolle, who is not political, says they want open borders, they’ll invade, and then they redraw the borders to benefit themselves.

      1. @debw Is he a motivational speaker? I don’t know the guy, so why should we listen to him? I don’t mean that sarcastically. I truly don’t know anything about him.

        1. He’s an author and writes on spiritual matters. I thought he would be an Oprah type teacher, but he was on Rubin last week and I listened to him, and I was entirely wrong about him.

  31. If this kind of crap keeps flowing outta the House, the Dems will get a shellackIn’ next year! Fingers crossed!!

  32. And the Senate bill is just as bad….

Today, both parties got together and agreed to spend even more money on illegal aliens without a penny for deportations, interdiction, or enforcement, while declaring that they solved the border problem. After just minutes of marking up the first major border legislation in months, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed a $4.59 billion supplemental spending bill with no debate, 30-1.

    Here are the highlights:

It’s all about refugee resettlement The lion’s share of the bill, $2.88 billion, is for HHS’ Office of Refugee Resettlement. In other words, the funding is all for resettling the very people that the bill was supposed to deter..

    https://www.conservativereview.com/news/senate-heads-toward-addressing-border-crisis-funding-refugee-resettlement-legal-aid/

Enforce the laws, end entitlements, and close the freaking border!

    2. Anyone of these Congressional elite who are supposed to be representing us, voting for resettling illegals in our nation, should be required to share their living quarters with at least several illegals, & personally provide an income to them.
