The media loves pushing hysteria and here’s a perfect example of this. CBS News reporter Ben Tracy suggests that reporting in North Korea is safer than reporting at the White House due to COVID outbreak:
I felt safer reporting in North Korea than I currently do reporting at The White House. This is just crazy.

He said this in response to the news that Kayleigh McEnany tested positive for COVID, noting that she spoke to reporters yesterday without a mask!
McEnany talked to reporters yesterday without a mask on and now she has tested positive for the virus https://t.co/oTe4juVCkn

First of all, her entire presser was about 58 seconds long which doesn’t constitute prolonged contact. Secondly, they were socially distanced apart as the photo demonstrates and Kayleigh never coughed, raised her voice, or sneezed during the presser.
Thirdly, this White House has been social distancing during press briefings and other interactions with the press all summer long. That’s why this reporter is hysterical, because his ‘feeling’ isn’t substantiated by reality.
Here’s a few responses Tracy got:
Not all heroes wear capes, some wear masks and partisan hyperbole

I think Ben needs therapy
Trump anxiety disorder is real and saying something like this proves it.
Ben didn't say it *is* safer, he said he *felt* safer
Media is driving mass hysteria https://t.co/PqfxaohLrt

No one is forcing you to stay, Ben https://t.co/1XoImyMNwk

Yes the White House is just like North Korea, other than the beatings, starvation, lack of electricity, organ harvesting, punishment of your parents, your children, your extended family on the basis of your network's reporting. You are a clown. https://t.co/qzKphhPYeU

It would be almost impossible to assess the level of stupidity in this comment. North Korea regularly kills people who give the government the side eye. Can you imagine how delusional you must be to say something so incredibly ridiculous? My face hurts even typing this! https://t.co/QnU8TB7LGG
