Mitch McConnell was on with Fox and Friends this morning and hit back at Jon Stewart who accused him yesterday of never dealing compassionately with the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund:
McConnell hits back at Stewart’s criticism that he always waits until the last minute, saying that Congress often votes at the last minute on many things.
He adds that Congress has always funded the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund and they will do so again.
McConnell also accused Stewart of trying to find something to be offended about with respect to his passionate speech last week before a committee hearing, saying that members are often absent from hearings because they are very busy. I would add to that that it wasn’t a full committee hearing anyway, something that was pointed out to Stewart after he made his speech.
