“I don’t like to lose” – Elon Musk explains why he wants to buy Twitter, admits there is a Plan B if he’s denied…

Elon Musk is doing a Ted Talk today and, of course, he’s getting questions about his bid to buy Twitter.

Musk doesn’t run from it and speaks openly about why he’s purchasing it, noting that it has nothing to do with economics:

Musk says that he’s not doing this for the money and he’d like to keep as many shareholders as possible under the law. He argues that this is really about the betterment of Democracy here in America and around the world.

Musk continues to expound on this, but also he explains just how transparent he’d like the company to be if he’s able to acquire it, saying that people should know if a tweet has been deemphasized or not and that the algorithm should be open source so everyone can see it.

Musk really believes in free speech and transparency and makes clear what he believes that entails:

Lastly, Musk was asked if he has a ‘Plan B’ if Twitter refuses his offer:

Musk admits there is a ‘Plan B’, but wouldn’t explain what it entailed when he was asked about it. He says he’ll save that for another time.
