In an interview with Joe Scarborough this morning, White House press secretary Josh Earnest denied reports that military leaders were in disagreement with Obama on how to approach the war against ISIS, or “hostile engagement” against the non-Islamic Islamic State, or whatever.

Yeah, we remain unconvinced. The fact is that Obama says he will absolutely not put boots on the ground against ISIS, but General Dempsey says he will advise Obama to do so if it’s needed. It’s clear that Obama’s principle is purely for political reasons, and that gets in the way of our military strategy.
