‘I will continue FIGHTING!’ – Ted Cruz files for re-election to the U.S. Senate

The Tednado filed for re-election to the U.S. Senate so that he can harangue Republicans into actually doing what they say they’re gonna do for another six years.

Here’s his statement from the Blaze:

Heidi and I feel incredibly privileged to have made the run for president and be part of an incredible grassroots movement,” Cruz said in a statement. “I will continue fighting for jobs, freedom, and security in the Senate for 27 million Texans and all Americans across this great country.”

“The conservative movement remains strong and vibrant. When conservatives are united, we are far more effective,” Cruz added.

Eh. Not really “strong” or “vibrant,” I’d say more like beleaguered and brow-beaten.

At least we know we’ll have a consistent conservative in the Senate, even if there will be a liberal Democrat in the White House. The question now is what will Cruz’s new position in the Senate be? Clearly he garnered a huge mandate by beating out all the establishment candidates, but he burned even MORE bridges by doing it, and animated the “freedom caucus” against the establishment. Meanwhile the GOP is severely weakened itself, but retains all the clerical power in the Congress.

It’ll be interesting to see how he re-positions himself. Especially since either Presidentress Hillary or Emperor Trump are either likely to be impeached within the first 6 months of their presidency.

Here’s Cruz’s press conference on his return to the Senate:
