“I will defend your right to be free of socialism” – Sarah Sanders releases powerful video announcing run for governor

Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has just released a powerful new video announcing her run for governor of Arkansas:

Here’s more from DC Examiner:

Establishing herself as another “law and order” candidate, Sanders issued a salvo of criticisms against the Democratic Party, which now controls the White House and both chambers of Congress.

“Today, our freedom and the rule of law are under attack,” Sanders said in the video. “The radical Left’s solution is to impost government control and censorship. But their socialism and cancel culture will not heal America. … Everything we love about America is at stake.”

Sanders also emphasized her role in the White House, which she described as “successfully managing one crisis after another” as she sat “at the table with President Trump, confronting our most dangerous adversaries, like China and North Korea.”

On her campaign website, she describes herself as a “trusted confidant of the president,” a sign that even after being voted out of office and impeached twice by the House, Trump and his base are still considered the best bet for victory by many in the Republican Party.

In her video, Sanders hit several key topics, including law and order, lowering the state income tax, and rejecting the “Green New Deal.” She also promised to prohibit sanctuary cities — an easy promise to make considering the state already did in 2019.

Sanders, an Arkansas native and daughter of two-term Gov. Mike Huckabee, joins a GOP primary field that includes Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin and Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. The state’s current governor, Republican Asa Hutchinson, is unable to seek reelection due to term limits.

“My opponents will do everything in their power to destroy me,” Sanders said in the video. “But I will not apologize for who I am or what I’m fighting for. I’m fighting for you.”

If elected, Sanders would be the first woman to lead the state.

It’s a great video, but there’s one small part that I found particularly satisfying. When Sanders mentions how she fought the radical left in the video as press secretary, she shows a photo of CNN’s Jim Acosta at that very moment. I love that!

Be sure and watch the video for more…
