Last week we told you about a black Georgia Democrat, Rep. Vernon Jones, who bucked his party and endorsed President Trump for reelection. Well apparently the backlash he received from his own party was severe and it was enough to prompt him to announce that he would resign early from his term.
Yesterday, I announced my intentions to resign from my office. But shortly thereafter, the outpour of support I received was too great for me to ignore.
I will not allow the Democrats to bully me into submission. I will not let them win.

But then, as Jones explains in the video above, he was overwhelmed with messages of support from many in his own state and across the greater United States who wanted him to stay and fight, and that made him reconsider his bid to resign. He said after talking it over with this family, he decided to reverse his decision and will finish his term.
Ted Cruz responded to his video above thanking him for standing by the courage of his convictions:

Jones also posted this video on his Twitter today, calling Democrats “the bigots they claim to hate”:
The way the Democrat Party has treated me this past week has made one thing clear: they are the bigots they claim to hate and I won’t be silent about it. pic.twitter.com/9kE9kcfWKS

Amen amen amen! I love it when the light bulb turns on for people on the left and they realize what’s really going on with their party. I’m very glad Jones is speaking out like this and I hope more in his state follow him.
