Idiot Dems in California trying to kill fracking despite massive potential for jobs and energy

Estimates are that there’s billions of barrels of oil in the Monterey Shale formation and accessing that could provide millions of jobs. But Democrats are proposing everything from banning fracking to burdening it with heavy regulations. They claim that they still don’t know if it is safe or something.

The number one thing that the Dems don’t want and are afraid of most is that it creates jobs.  That is jobs that the govt doesn’t control.  Jobs that make people self supporting and accordingly independent of the nanny welfare state.
The nonsense produced by the media, govt controlled media that is, is just noise to distract & cover their real concerns.  Its that old WMD – wording of mass distraction once again.

As a Retired Oilfield worker that still lives in Louisiana I have seen Frac jobs thousands of times and never once, NOT ONCE, did it effect anything it should not have.  NEVER ever happened.   99 out of 100 times the pay zones are thousands of feet from any water table.    But then again you have to remember that California is indeed the ‘Land of Fruits and NUTS!!!!!!!!!!”

poptoy1949 My wife worked for Hunt energy, she’s a petroleum geologist, worked for the Texas Railroad Commission, and she always tells me that this fracking is completely safe.  Unfortunately, she’s a lib, so rather than speak out against the left’s obvious falsehoods about fracking, she stays silent.  For someone that is smart enough to be a MENSA member, it’s one of her less endearing qualities.

Cuomo and the Dems have been doing the same thing here in NY for years now. I have property in a prime natural gas drilling area and they will not let us extract it, despite findings by the EPA that has shown it is being done safely all over the country.

California is going broke. Businesses and (talented) people are leaving in droves because of the draconian ‘green’ regulations already enforced on them. “Governor Moon Beam” (Jerry Brown), as we used to call him when I used to live there, isn’t bright enough to be able to pick his nose without instructions and Californians elected him again?
Let the state go broke, let the ‘greenies’ pray to their Obama God for help, make them have to rub sticks together to start a fire. Oh wait, they can’t do that! It’s against all the enviornmental ‘tree’ regulations.

California has been its own worse enemy on many fronts and this is just another brain dead decision that separates California from the rest of the sane world.  California gets what it deserves and we ain’t seen nuttin yet.

Stoptheusurper You’d better believe it! The only way this state can be saved is to give the libs enough rope to hang themselves, bankrupt the state with their insane regulations and break the unions. It’s gonna be a rough ride but it will be worth it. This state is an absolute gold mine of natural resources and can again just about feed the nation if these idiots get out power.
Pray for us!!!

Shale gas is being found all over the planet.  There was huge find under Britain, for example.  Places thought to be petroleum-free (under non-horizontal drilling techniques) are turning out to have a lot of shale formations with gas or oil.  Current estimates have the US supplied with natural gas for well over a hundred years.  However, petroleum analysts hate that concept because it’s not based on their blue-ribbon standard for predictive analysis: Resources and Reserves.  A Resource is gas or oil that has been proven to be producible, and is under production, and a Reserve is proven, but not necessarily under production (like California’s many un-exploited reserves).  Those are terms of art, and are subject to argument all by themselves, but analysts swear by them. What analysts do not take into account are the reserves under study that have major potential.  That’s why so many complain over that “hundred years”… Read more »

I’ve hung out on a few Liberal sites tormenting sycophant bootlickers. Those people are absolutely mentally and morally bankrupt. They froth from the mouth with rabid insanity. Serious, I can think of nothing comely about Liberals, they are  gangrenous through and through.

I stay in San Diego because it is my beautiful tropical home sweet home. I cannot imagine having to adjust to the weather that other states experience. My mother, though very healthy, has entered into what is considered elderly years, and I will be here for her to the end. But, after she goes to heaven… I’m hoping to convince my Conservative son’s to move with me to a sane state. Maybe Texas or Utah. California doesn’t deserve productive citizens

Political Pugilist I moved from Fresno to Vancouver, BC, many years ago. It’s really paradise here with Swiss-like mountains, oceans, and great skiing and hiking areas. Unfortunately, most of the politicians here are collectivists, if not outright communists, and the IRS treats Americans overseas like they’re traitors.

So, I agree with you. Try to get away from the Left Coast.

Okay this is just me speculating but I don’t really think the CA dems are against fracking. They have to make a big fuss so they can have their lawsuits and regulations and taxes and such. This keeps the environmental lobby happy so they’ll keep bankrolling their reelections and it keeps the money flowing out of the private sector and into public pockets. I’ll bet they’ll eventually let it go through because they need the money but they’ll do their best to suck as much out of it as possible.

cherpers Laurel A What would be the point if they so regulate it that it won’t happen in this already overblown monetarily inflated state? The product they are pulling out of the ground has to be competitive on the open market. If costs make them not profitable then it won’t happen. People said they would want the money and jobs from farming in the Valley too…and guess what they shut the water off regardless. Farmers are receiving 20% of the eater allotment normally allocated. Take note that most of the produce in the stores is imported and expensive.
The whole thing reminds me of what Obama said of the coal industry. Remember that?

cherpers

Laurel A The point is that they are greedy and they are always looking for new ways to bring in money. Fracking would be enormous and highly profitable. They can suck a lot out before the industry is killed. They don’t get any money if they ban it outright. You can see by the nature of the bills they are proposing that they are positioning themselves for lots of big fat settlements, taxes, and regulations. Yes, the Dems are retarded when it comes to every economic policy but I don’t think they can resist passing up on this much money.

More idiot California doings: Businesses are leaving states like California in droves. So what to they do–make it even more onerous for non-residents to do business in CA! We got a form we have to add to our vendor package that withholds 7% in taxes on non-resident business when they do business in CA (form 587). Not goods–we’re talking about services. From the forms FAQs: Payments subject to withholding include the following: • Payments for services performed in California by nonresidents. • Payments made in connection with a California performance. • Rent paid to nonresidents if the rent is paid in the course of the withholding agent’s business. • Royalties paid to nonresidents from business activities in California. • Payments of prizes for contests entered in California. • Distributions of California source income to nonresident beneficiaries from an estate or trust. • Other payments of California source income made to… Read more »

The opposition to fracking uses the same tactics as the global warming crowd…..doctored science.   It’s all about the libs protecting their green energy agenda.

Millions of jobs = millions, if not billions, of tax dollars generated for the state of California. HELLO!!!
The politicians are worried about the “potential” environmental hazzards with fracking, but not so worried about the BILLIONS of dollars being spent on the “pet project” of the century, the 21 mile high speed train track to NO WHERE! Let’s start fracking and create REAL jobs for California and REAL income.  With fracking everyone wins!

kong1967

joyfulgiver  I doubt very much that politicians are really worried about the environmental hazards of fracking.  If fracking produced renewable energy you’d never hear a word of objection from them.  Since there is no alternative to oil and we still desperately need it, the only way to defeat it is to lie about it and claim it will make the solar system blow up into a trillion pieces.

Orangeone Army_Pilot1967 Still believe there is chance at reconciliation with them? I never have and neither do they which is why they abuse the power of the govt in the effort to destroy our side. Eventually, our side will realize that the ballot box isn’t the answer as it never is a fair election when dealing with people that are so nefarious thus a shooting war will come about one way or the other.

JohnSchaffran  You aren’t missing anything.  Dems are using the same type of doctored science as they use to push the global warming scam.  The only way they can defeat the oil industry is to try to destroy it by claiming they are destroying the earth.
