Oh boy. Ted Cruz jumped in on the debate over James Gunn’s terrible tweets, and it sounds like he wants an investigation into it.
Wow. These #JamesGunn tweets are just horrible. Child rape is no laughing matter. As Texas SG, I handled far too many child sexual assaults. Truly evil. I’m glad Disney fired him, but if these tweets are true, he needs to be prosecuted. pic.twitter.com/1IgHC18J4x

Yikes. I’m not sure I agree. These are clearly jokes, they are bad jokes, and they’re terrible, but they’re jokes.
Kaczynski of CNN went after Cruz:

Andrew, how do you know they’re jokes? Several tweets refer directly to his having had sex w/ kids. If someone tweets confessing to a crime (repeatedly), it should be investigated. If he’s telling the truth—if he has in fact molested young children—then he should be prosecuted.

I dunno. The “alt-lite” people who dug these things up are definitely taking it seriously because they’re all about Pizza Gate level conspiracies. I think they’re really bad jokes.
I mean, we don’t want law enforcement looking into every tweet containing a joke about committing crimes, do we?

To be fair to the Cruznado, he *did* say “repeatedly.”
