Ilhan Omar votes ‘present’ on affirming Armenian Genocide and here’s her explanation

Today Ilhan Omar was one of three people who voted present on affirming the Armenian Genocide, refusing to take a side on the issue. She explained her ‘present’ vote to CNN like this:

Such a bs response. It shouldn’t be used as a ‘cudgel’ in a political fight?

This from the woman who has been calling for impeachment of Trump since she began running for office?

Already people have been bringing up her private meeting with Erdogan from 2017:

Omar was widely condemned for her bs response, even from Chris Hayes:

But hey, she’s not the only one voting present. And on top of that, 11 Republicans voted against it:

So far I haven’t been able to find why 11 Republicans voted against, but when I do I’ll post it here.
