Today Ilhan Omar was one of three people who voted present on affirming the Armenian Genocide, refusing to take a side on the issue. She explained her ‘present’ vote to CNN like this:
Such a bs response. It shouldn’t be used as a ‘cudgel’ in a political fight?
This from the woman who has been calling for impeachment of Trump since she began running for office?
Already people have been bringing up her private meeting with Erdogan from 2017:
We gonna talk about Ilhan Omar’s closed-door meeting with Erdorgan in 2017 now, or nah?

Omar was widely condemned for her bs response, even from Chris Hayes:
Her "present" vote on the Armenian genocide resolution is a bit tough to square with that. Not to say there aren't real politique reasons to avoid enraging Turkey, there are, and it's why the resolution has died a thousand deaths. But that's not usually Omar's thing.

But hey, she’s not the only one voting present. And on top of that, 11 Republicans voted against it:
11 "No" votes:
Jim Baird
Kevin Brady
Susan Brooks
Larry Bucshon
Tom Cole
Virginia Foxx
Andy Harris
Mark Meadows
Greg Pence
Mike Rogers
Mac Thornberry3 "Present" votes:
Paul Gosar
Eddie Bernice Johnson

So far I haven’t been able to find why 11 Republicans voted against, but when I do I’ll post it here.
