Apparently Fox News doesn’t believe in fair use any longer because they are putting insane restrictions on debate coverage after the debate.
It’s so insane that Ben Shapiro says he’s dumbfounded by it all:
INSANE: per Fox News, any media covering tonight's debate are only allowed to post up to 3 minutes TOTAL of the footage. That’s about two clips for all coverage. Even if this violates fair use, who wants to deal with the cost of a lawsuit? It will be interesting to see how Shapiro decides to deal with this tonight and tomorrow.
I know Shapiro is worked up over this but he shouldn’t be too worried about it. My sources tell me that news agencies do this all the time before their debates and never really enforce it. It was described to me as ‘boilerplate’ and the language is almost exactly the same as previous restrictions in the past from other networks.
