Gov. Greg Abbott was misled by police, he announced on Friday. At a press conference earlier in the week he highly praised the response by police in Uvalde, but as we all know there has been a lot more information to come out since then about huge delays in their response, failure to bust down the door and take out the murderer who was killing children, and even tackling and using tasers on parents trying to save their kids from death.
“It could have been worse. The reason it was not worse is because law enforcement officials did what they do. They showed amazing courage by running toward gunfire for the singular purpose of trying to save lives,” he said earlier this week.
But that ain’t it. And Abbott says he was lied to by police about what went down. Not in so many words but it’s clear that’s what he is saying.
He should be livid. Everyone should be. What happened here was incomprehensible. We don’t know yet the details on why cops stood around not saving kids being murdered, but there sure ain’t gonna be a GOOD damn reason.
Someone needs to go down. They lied to the governor. To the families. To the American people. Despicable.
