IT BEGINS: Trump endorses new candidate to primary House Republican who voted to impeach him

President Trump has just endorsed a candidate to primary one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach him in the House a few weeks ago:

The statement says:

Max Miller is a wonderful person who did a great job at the White House and will be a fantastic Congressman. He is a Marine Veteran, a son of Ohio, and a true PATRIOT. Current Rep. Anthony Gonzalez should not be representing the people of the 16th district because he does not represent their interest of their heart. Max Miller has my Complete and Total Endorsement!

The fact that he’s a Marine Veteran and a conservative should do well for his candidacy in Ohio. The boost from Trump should put him over the top, especially given what he’s up against.

And just for context outside of the impeachment vote, Rep. Anthony Gonzalez ran unopposed in the 2020 Republican Primary. So he’ll have some stiff competition this time around.
