Well it’s starting to pile on today. Out of the gate this morning was news that Bart Stupak is going to retire. His official announcement will come later today. But I doubt this announcement surprises anyone. I imagine that he was pressured into this because the American people’s hate-o-meter is pegged for him and Democrat leaders want a fighting chance at keeping his seat in the house.
Next up: Laura Ingraham seems to be the only one reporting that Barney Frank is retiring. I’ve yet to hear any major news organization validate this.
Now word is today that Justice Stephens will retire this summer. The rumor actually came out earlier this week, and it’s no surprise that a lefty justice will choose to retire while Democrats still have a majority. And he’ll surely be replaced by a radical leftist activist Justice so the court’s current balance won’t really change.
