Ted Cruz proposed a new amendment to prevent vaccine mandates this morning and in doing so ripped the CDC over their new guidance, saying their credibility is in tatters after putting politics above science, and explained why their new guidance is wrong:
After Cruz had finished his comments, Democrat Senator Jeanne Shaheen used her time to impugn his integrity and falsely accuse him of suggesting that vaccines don’t work. Cruz responded with FIRE:
Sen. Ted Cruz: “We see the kabuki theater here. Everyone here has been vaccinated. [After the CDCs mask flip flop] we saw Democrats putting on masks, not b/c the vaccine suddenly stopped working yesterday… nope b/c now it is a virtue signal of submissiveness to wear a mask.” pic.twitter.com/Mudc5FfWfs

Cruz pointed out that he and his family have been vaccinated and he very much believes in vaccinations. But he also believes in individual liberty and said “it’s your damn choice whether you get vaccinated.”
He then addressed the kabuki theater he’s seen among his vaccinated colleagues since yesterday’s new guidance, noting that Democrats suddenly put masks back on to virtue signal even though the vaccine didn’t stop working or become less effective in the last few days.
