Ivanka Trump sat down with Axios this morning and was asked if she believed, as her father says, that the media is “the enemy of the people.”
Here’s what she said:

As I’ve often said, Trump goes way overboard in his attacks on the media. He isn’t wrong, however, that they are very much biased against him. But just like Ivanka, I’m not ready to label them the “enemy of the people” yet either.
In many ways, however, they are his enemy and an enemy of Republicans in general.
She was also asked about the issue of child separation at the border. She calls it a ‘low point’ in her tenure at the White House and says she’s vehemently against it, but also admits that it’s a very complex and complicated situation:

She’s right about the complexity. Not only do they have to abide by the court’s ruling, but they have to make sure children are safe and aren’t being used for trafficking or worse. And, as she points out, they also have ensure they don’t incentivize bad behavior.
Nobody wants to see parents and children separated as a rule, but in some of these cases it’s absolutely necessary. In other cases it’s not necessary, but the court has demanded it. And unless Congress takes action to remedy this situation, it’s only going to continue.
