Jeff Toobin is ashamed that he got ‘snookered’ by the Michael Avenatti hype

This is great. Jeff Toobin is one of the few television pundit libs who is willing to admit what they’re all thinking: “wow we look stupid now that Avenatti is going to prison.” You just love to see it:

“I remember once at the peak of all of this, we went to lunch in midtown, when our offices were in midtown, and we walked back together to CNN, and it was like walking with a major, major celebrity,” Toobin explained. “People came up to him. It’s like, you know, ‘Go for it! Go get Trump!’ … And at the peak of this, he even announced he was considering running for president, and he went to Iowa, he went to New Hampshire. And to call it hubris … doesn’t do it justice. I mean, the craziness of this.”

Clearly, they were blinded by their zeal to take down Trump, and they made horrible decisions.

After explaining that the lawyer could serve “decades in prison,” Toobin admitted that he feels “kind of snookered, because I took him seriously.”

I think there’s a good lesson to learn from this. Don’t be so eager to hate your political opponent that it makes you blind to supporting a stupid irrational celebrity on television just because he is loud and obnoxiously attacking the target you dislike. Thanks, Toobin!

There’s video over at the Washington Examiner if you’re interested.

Or just watch this:

Enjoy prison you creepy weirdo.
