Jerry Nadler makes the most ABSURD statement in defense of his court packing bill [VIDEO]

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler introduced Democrats court packing bill today and made the most absurd statement in defense of it.

First, here’s his fuller statement trying to justify and defend this radical agenda:

Nadler first claims that because there are 13 circuits, there need to be 13 Supreme Court justices because there aren’t enough justices to deal with the amount of cases needing to be heard or something. But that’s complete garbage, because there have been 13 circuits a long time. Six circuits began in 1801, four more circuits were created in 1869 and the DC circuit was established in 1893. The 12th circuit, which was really the last actual circuit of judges created, happened in 1929. The federal circuit, which is simply an umbrella district for all the other circuits, was created in 1980.

So in essence, nothing has really changed in almost 100 years. But now is suddenly the time that Democrats make the number of justices match the number of circuits?

But here’s the claim that’s even more absurd, which is also in the video above:

Nadler ludicrously claims that he’s not packing the court, but that Trump and McConnell were the ones who packed the court. That’s LAUGHABLE! Trump simply dealt with the vacancies that came his way, just as all presidents do, the first of which happened while he and Hillary were campaigning to become president and the last of which happened near the end of last year.

It’s more than clear that Democrats are rabidly angry that Trump put three ‘conservative’ justices on the Supreme Court and in order to get their childish way, they want to increase the seats so they can make the high court a liberal activist court again.

Now as I’m posting this, I see breaking news that Nancy Pelosi has declared she won’t allow this bill to come to the floor for a vote:

Which tells you a couple of things. First, Pelosi doesn’t believe they can really pass this bill or else she’d allow a vote on it. Secondly, I’m sure she knows that if she can’t pass the bill now in her own caucus, allowing a vote on it will likely hurt their chances of keeping their majority next year. So by tabling the bill for now, Democrats can say they have plausible deniability because they never actually voted on it indicating their support or opposition for it.

So what is this semi-kabuki theater really all about? A couple of things. First, I suspect it’s a big fundraising effort as Democrats gear up for elections next year. But I also think Democrats are communicating to leftists what they really want to do in the future when they win back large enough majorities in the House and Senate. And that’s exactly what Republicans should be pointing out next year during the elections.
