Jesse Jackson Jr: Let’s add the right to economic security to the Constitution

Because FDR says, as Jackson quotes, that true individual freedom can’t exist without economic security. So what does Jackson want to add to the Constitution? He quotes FDR again: the right to a family to have a decent home, the right to medical care, and the right to a decent education for every American.

Didn’t they have something like that in the old USSR? You know, the country whose economy collapsed? Yeah, Jesse Jackson Jr. is a genius, just like his father.

I’d love to see Jesse Jackson Jr. debate Allen West. That would be spectacular.

P.S. I thought the right to medical care was already in the Constitution. Um, hello ObamaCare?

  1. What he is essentially advocating here is freedom, freedom from responsibility. He can keep it.

  2. That is exactly why there should NOT be a con con! NO ONE will be able to contain it! Looks like it’s time to find another country in which to live. Our leaders are not listening to the American people and haven’t for a very, very long time. I have been criticized and labeled negative because I have been saying since the Communist Clintons that the American people have become a stupid and ignorant people. They hear what they want to hear, believe what they want to believe and by george, they are not gonna let the facts get the way!

  3. someone tell me how many drugs and/or bottles of hard liquor you have to drink to understand this dumbass

this type of rant makes me sad that these type of people can be elected in America, and this is why I lose all sense of hope in all groups of people

  4. O’ was at a school today in Florida. Jeb Bush was there too. It was a school that had shown some significant improvement. One thing O’ said was that this is what “happens in a school when you have a culture of high expectations”.

People tend to rise to meet the demands place upon them. When they do, their confidence also rises. Their self-esteem soars. They realize that the race doesn’t always go to the swiftest but it often goes to the man or woman who believes that he or she can win it.

This is a culture of high expectations. This is an intrical part of conservatism. With conservatism there are high expectations placed in people. With hard-core liberalism are there ANY expectations placed on or in people? If there are, I don’t see them. Those come after the new strongman takes control. Then they multiply more and more as the rewards are less and less. If you want results, you can start by expecting them. If you want failure, guarantee that by not expecting anything. Don’t even try.

  5. “Didn’t they have something like that in the old USSR? You know, the country whose economy collapsed?”

The USSR also had people in its country, so does our country, does that mean our country is going to collapse, or do you not consider communists people? They had oxygen in the USSR, it looks like we are doomed once again.

The text I quoted is a terrible way to argue anything, the writer of this post really needs to reconsider what he says before saying it.

    1. You don’t think the government having to provide all its citizens with health care, housing, and education contributed to their economic collapse?

    2. See if you can make it through “We The Living”, Herp.
USSR was a hellhole, unfit for humans. Ayn Rand lived through part of it and wrote about it. No, the inhabitants of USSR were no longer humans. They were reduced to serfs, and were more like subjugated, trapped, starving, animals. There was nothing of redemptive value anywhere in that system.

    3. Herp – As in herpetology? The study of reptiles and amphibians.
      Derp – I haven’t a clue at the moment.

I don’t recall reading a more intellectually challenged post on the Internet.

Apparently you missed the part(s) that was/were referencing the social environments under the competing political agendas.

In the repressive societies such as the U.S.S.R. individuals are discouraged from contemplating new ideas, utilizing personal initiative, development of that idea, and achieving comparative success.

Pending a new executive order we, in our republic style of representative government, do still have the opportunity to be creative and utilize personal initiative to advance within society.

  6. They promised long ago that they would bring us down from within without firing a single shot. Well, it looks like they’re well on their way to that goal.
Would someone please relieve these Commies of their power, now, as the black Libs like to say “By any means necessary”.

  7. No one owes anyone anything. The Constitution protects the right to pursue The Dream; it does not bestow The Dream. It is only through the effort and responsibility to ourselves that the means to fund a national defense and a few other desirable public provisions are established, but it is utterly evil to take advantage of someone working to provide for their family and giving that “bread” to someone who isn’t.

  8. It has come to the point when I honestly believe that if I ever hear anyone speak like this in public when I am in the audience, I will stand up and go on a four-letter rant. I’m just at the end of the line with these people.

  9. JJ Jr. started in a “magnet” elementary school and went to boarding schools from 4th grade on. Altho he may know that there is free public education in his district, he surely does not have a clue as to how to fix it. Altho his dad is a small businessman, it is not a business that everyone can aspire to as there are only so many donors to donate to professional beggars. (You might say that JJ Sr. is out to help black humanity – but the how did he become he’s a multi-millionaire?)

Bottom line, this guy has lived a life as isolated from the “common man” as Paris Hilton!!

  10. Just as soon as everyone get off their arses, works at any job – any job at all – gives up liquor, drugs, stealing, prostitution and any other illegal activity – then we will begin – begin to think about it – other than that – forget about it!!!

  11. I don’t think the progressives are going far enough. Why should we stop at just economic equality? I think fat people should give some of their fat to skinny people. People with long hair should cut their hair and give some to those with short hair. Tall people should give some height to short people. Fast runners should slow down and let the slow runners run at the same speed.

These people are absolute morons. I think we need to start having an emigration problem in this country.

  12. I have one. Let’s add to the Constitution the right for the people to determine whether we want term limits for our elected officials – or not.

  13. Liberals hate Sarah Palin, because she can win

    Posted: February 28th, 2011 | Author: Henry D’Andrea

Liberals hate Sarah Palin, not only because she can win in 2012, but because she is a woman, pretty, smart, witty, confident, refreshing, normal, and bold with an ability to inspire. This drives Liberals crazy. She scares them more than anyone else. They’re so afraid of her, that they will do anything to desecrate her.

Lloyd Marcus over at American Thinker wrote a very compelling piece on this, and I wanted to share it with you all:

This article is not about endorsing Sarah Palin for president. It is about illustrating the liberal media’s ability to brand an image. Case in point, conservatives saying Palin is not smart enough to be president.

The Left launched their “Sarah Palin is Stupid” campaign the next day after her incredible VP nomination acceptance speech. A woman, pretty, smart, witty, confident and bold with an ability to inspire and fire up the conservative base, Sarah Palin was the Left’s worst nightmare. They were livid. The only thing which could have made it worse would have been if Palin was black. The Left would have surely lost their minds.

The clarion call went out, “Palin MUST be destroyed!”

When Sarah Palin appeared on Saturday Night Live, I watched with a bunch of my conservative friends. My friends laughed and made comments such as, “This is great. It shows Palin is a good sport and doesn’t take herself too seriously.”

I thought, “This is wrong. Why help the Left sell the message to their audience that Palin is stupid?” Humor is a powerful sales tool.

The assault on Palin’s intellect intensified daily. Every word out of Palin’s mouth was dissected and placed under a microscope. Then, viewed through a lens tainted with the paradigm that “Palin is stupid”. Who amongst us could withstand our every utterance judged with such extreme scrutiny?

Conservatives saying under their breath at cocktail parties that Palin isn’t too bright is evidence the liberal media’s branding of her has worked on some level.

Frustratingly, the facts completely prove otherwise. Palin was extremely successful as Governor of Alaska.

For crying out loud, what has His Royal Obamaness achieved qualifying him to run the country? Nothing. Obama was a community organizer. He taught people they were entitled victims of an unfair America and how to extort freebies. He only served 144 days in the senate before running for president.

Obama’s presidential qualifications: He is half black and liberal. This won him 100% liberal media support and 96% of the black vote. Obama is well spoken and looked good in a swim suit.

Remember when Obama said America had 57 states? Immediately to his defense, the liberal media said, “Obama was tired”. Imagine if Palin had said the same thing. The liberal media would have gagged us with at least three days of 24/7 coverage of the story. Every report would parrot the same mantra, “This conservative woman is truly an idiot”.

While the liberal media no longer enjoys their Walter Cronkite single voice “bully pulpit”, their ability to brand a person or issue is still quite powerful. They took a man who had never run a business, state or donut shop and convinced millions of Americans he was a political leader unlike any before him. Obama was the smartest guy in the room; eminently qualified to run America and probably the world.

Brilliantly despicable, the liberal media exploited Obama’s race to get their liberal black guy elected. They deemed any attempt to subject Obama to the normal vetting procedures for one applying for the position of Leader of the Free World to be racist. Even Obama’s anti-America associates and racist pastor of 20 years did not matter.

With fake Greek columns on the set behind him, extra reverb on his voice and a teleprompter, the democrats with liberal media support branded Obama, in the minds of millions, as The Messiah. He was “The One we have been waiting for”. You could almost hear angels singing, “Ahhhhhhhhh!”

Meanwhile, without special effects, Sarah Palin truly is a super woman epitomizing everything feminists claim to wish for all women. She has achieved extraordinary success in and outside of the home. And yet, Palin is successfully branded by the liberal media, an idiot, in the minds of many.

Clearly, Palin’s presidential qualifications far exceed Obama’s. As I stated, this article is not about endorsing Palin for President. I am simply illustrating the liberal media’s power to shape an image and public opinion, including opinions of some conservatives.

We tea party patriots have made tremendous inroads in countering the liberal media’s propaganda and getting out the truth. This is why they are frantically burning the midnight oil conceiving ways to shut down talk radio and control the internet.

While the liberal media’s ability to shape public opinion is in severe decline, they remain relentless. They still believe they set the rules of engagement, defining what behavior and comments are deemed racist and uncivil. They even think they can select our candidates; dictating who is and who is not electable.

Some on our side still crave to be accepted by the liberal media. They are embarrassed to be named among those “crazy tea party people”. Thus, they pander to the Left saying things like, “They’re right, Palin is a joke. And yes, we conservatives should be willing to work with liberal democrats”. Unfortunately, willing to work with always means compromising our values, not theirs. Thank God, most of us get it. We realize the left simply must be defeated.

Liberal mainstream media, your glory days of distorting the truth, monopolizing coverage and totally controlling public opinion are over. We The People truly are Taking Back America!

  15. all are equal…all are equal….
some are more equal than others….. dems know what i mean.
    gimme gimme gimmie……
ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!! We’re broke! Do leeches keep trying to suck blood out of a dehydrated carcus? Seems like these dems are worse than leeches!

  16. …well it’s not in the constitution but it should be. LOL! And he cites a progressive Roosevelt!

  17. Um, that’s socialism. Doesn’t work, never has, never will. F.D.R. tried several times to put those “rights” in the constitution. It was always voted down (Unconstitutional). Then he tried to change the make-up of the Supreme Court to add more justices. It was voted down. The reason these ideas were put to rest 65 years ago, Mr. Jackson, is because they were stupid then just as they are now. How forward thinking you are (digging up 65 yr old failures). Don’t you and Daddy have some crimes to commit? Maybe some women (that aren’t your wives) to fool around with and make some more illegitimate babies, that you can claim aren’t yours and then later claim you “misspoke”? Perhaps some people of color to exploit for personal gain? This friggin clown should be behind bars, not on the house floor, spewing age old rhetoric, that is nausea-inducing. I just love how his answer is; “right in the Constitution” ….as soon as we change it, to make it so. It should be of no surprise to me, that when a jackass like the Rev. Jesse breeds, he has little jackasses, like Jesse Jr.! I guess the stolen apple doesn’t fall too far from someone else’s tree.

  18. You wonder why FDR was facing unemployment at an all-time high? Hmmm. The “greatest capitalist…” WHAT?!

I’m sorry, did you say he was existentially in congress? Does that mean he’s actually there, or not? Not sure what that means there, Mr. Poser. (Boy, he’s sure trying to sound as forceful as Pop, isn’t he?)

  19. Hey, I’m poor and happy……….. I was misrable as a kid waiting for the welfare check during the carter years (so me and my mom could eat) ….. Then I learned I don’t have to wait on a check from state……….. I can work and feel good about that!

  20. I hit pause/stop after… “So”. Heard nuff. Next. Thanks for the commentary RS – I suspect you saved me from loosing 5:53 of my time.

    1. btw … since leaving that post i’ve wondered if i used a bit too dry of a comment. The hearing anyone claim the “right” to anything was bit much. We struggle, disabled, ssi, ssd, food stamps. medicaid, medicaire… but.. not applied for housing… not applied for utility assistance in a year (tho not taking utility assistance off the table).. do not have a credit card balance… not hitting food banks. So spose we’re a bit stuck in the middle of being on fed assistance yet not abusing the system. We’ve made due with less to save more as in alotta stored beans + rice, other foods… cooking offgird is ready ‘in case needed’.. most of other things would need etc. Today of all days just wasn’t the day to listen to a ‘right’ to things.. as was my first time back out on my kymco.. scared hell out of me after last sept accident.. (especially having to dodge a “can’t see a cycle” suv driver less than 2 miles out) still i didn’t turn around and cycle is legal. It was a hard choice to keep riding after extensive injuries. (Kymco rode me, few scratches – it’s checked out fine). We’ve public transportation setup for bro with his elec wheelchair.. no car. Sometimes pay neighbor for ride to the store. Puter isn’t just surfing.. it’s magicjack phone, aetv, hulu shows. Puters are 12 & 6 yr old. Tv’s been off for over a year. Briefly turned cable back on for 3 weeks around april.. we wasn’t watching it so back off it went.

If the dollar fails.. if food stamps poof.. at the least we’ve a few months of supplies to figure out what’s next. With a 1.7 gallon sized gas tank.. doesn’t take much to fill the kymco compared to a car to get it filled. 102 mpg. Sometimes have to put off going to the store with it cuz of my disabilities, but in a crunch it’s there. Bro has a 11 year old & 7 year old wheelchairs.. both been taken care of .. tested for distance.. can get at least 5 miles before start to get low on battery. His portable wheelchair is also recently maintanced and good for another decade. PT weights plus thinking outside the box keeps him/us going.

Our want list poofed a year ago and need list is trimmed to the most basic of needs. Sure some needs not met, but that’s life right? Overall we’re happy and greatly do not feel anyone is entitled as a “right” to the things RS commented was going to be in the video. Twas why I stopped it after the first second.

Our life is mostly at home but we’re at the age to be glad for it. And this most definently is not a whine ‘oh woe is us’ post cuz we truly are content all things considered. Sure things will get rough if fubar hits, but BUT.. we’ve done and are doing all we can. Sure won’t be any useless paper laying around if the dollar does fail.

Tis why for me even while now on the programs mentioned it’s without guilt when i grump over folks abusing the system. Since GB mentioned flour was on limited sales on one coast, and rice price jumping on other coast in one episode, a few years ago (cnn), my life changed prepping for whatever is in our futures. Years to prep vs months. Already had the kymco.

Just thought I’d throw this out there, cuz i DO appreciate all things posted at this website. I didn’t mean to sound curt at the posting of the video. Thanks RS. Heh.. I sure used more than 5:53 to type this.. but it felt good to do 🙂

  21. A debate between West and Jackson would have the same outcome as a debate between a Praying Mantis and a fly.

  22. I agree fully, I mean, what we need now is more entitlement programs, right? right? I swear, Jackson didn’t fall far from the tree, but he sure hit the ground just as hard.

For a second I remembered a debate between him and Allen West, but as it turns out, that was just the memory of driving over a squirrel on the road; it’s strange I got those confused.

    1. Please …. I live in California 🙁 But my heart goes out to you anyways. 🙂
