Today we celebrate our risen Lord after he sacrificed all to set us free from death.
Jesus suffered immense agony, pain and death to open the gates of Heaven to his new bride.
His resurrection is crucial to all of this because it means that it was not mere man who died on that cross two thousand years ago. If it were, his death would have meant nothing.
But Jesus, though he was man in every way, especially his suffering, was also God and he proved that by resurrecting himself from the grave where he lay.
And that is the reason why we have such hope. That God looked down upon his broken creation and gave us the greatest gift he could give us, his Son. We are his bride and he is our groom.
Hallelujah, we have the greatest hope, the greatest gift there ever could be!
