Today is the big day to see if Rep. Jim Jordan from Ohio can get across the line to become the new Speaker of the House. The vote should be somewhere around noon.
One of Jordan’s whips was on Fox News this morning and predicted Jordan will have enough votes, although he did say it will be very close:
A) House Intel Cmte chair Turner on Fox on Jordan: He's going to have the votes. Fellow Ohioan Jim Jordan deserves this. He's worked very hard. He's a leader. I think he's exactly what we need to be to pull the house together at this time.

B) Turner on Jordan opponents: I'm on the whip team for Jim Jordan, so I'm on the phone talking to some of them. And each of them have different issues. And they were somewhat of a diverse Congress. And Jim is responding to each of those

C) Turner: Some of them were concerned about spending. Some of them concerned about the budget. Some are concerned about defense. All of those areas I think Jim has responded to. He just, you know, needs to be able to make certain he can get this over the line..he's very close.

It looks like it may take a few rounds for Jordan to win this, which I’m sure surprises no one given how divided the House has become. Hopefully Jordan can make it work and we can all be done with this soon.
what i keep hearing from the Jordan hold outs is that the knock on Jordan is that he will not punish people like Gaetz/the 8.
Very tough to do that in a small majority…. https://t.co/bC69PzYPzT
