[UPDATE: TLAIB DEFENDS CASTRO] – Joaquin Castro DEFENDS tweet intimidating and shaming Trump donors

Joaquin Castro is now defending his tweet that intimidated and shamed Trump donors in his district:

It’s one thing for information to be publicly available. It’s completely another for a sitting Congressman to tweet a partisan list of Trump donors in his district and then publish it for the purposes of shaming, harassment and intimidation.

It’s not just people on the right criticizing Castro for this. Here is Maggie Haberman from the NY Times calling it ‘dangerous’:

And Yashar Ali with HuffPo also said it is a dangerous precedent:

The campaign of a member of congress targeting individual donors, and their businesses, to another campaign (and not famous billionaires) is a terrible and dangerous precedent to set. Also, this isn’t even Joaquin Castro’s opponent. Not that it would be ok if it were. Awful

I’m sure there are more, but you get the idea.

It’s time for Pelosi and the House Democrats to censure Castro for this. While it needs to be done, I won’t hold my breath in anticipation.

UPDATE: Guess who just defending Castro…

Without a doubt.
