Joe Biden is having a bad day on CNN.
We told you last night that Joe Biden reversed himself on the Hyde amendment after his 2020 counterparts gave him hell. Biden, of course, blamed Republicans. Well now it’s apparently open season on him as prominent Democrats and media pundits are taking aim at his flip-flop-flippity-flopness on abortion funding.
First up is former Obama advisor David Axelrod suggesting that Biden’s flip flop worries people that he can’t go the distance:
Second up, a Politico reporter on John King’s CNN show says the Trump team believes that Biden will not be able to survive the primary because he’ll be pulled to the left, and this flip-flop makes their theory look correct.
She also says he didn’t look good taking five days to deal with his creepy hands problem:
Lastly, a Daily Beast reporter at the same table says Biden’s flip-flop looks politically expedient and that this could be a big problem for him. Because, as she notes, any Democrat who believes in restrictions on abortion has a problem in the Democratic party:
As big a deal as the left is making over this, I do wonder if it’s really going to have much effect on Biden’s poll numbers.
I get that abortion is a super hot issue right now on both the right and the left, but Biden being Biden isn’t anything new. And Obama made evolving on an issue popular, so I have my doubts that this will really damage him very much.
