Joe Biden is really desperately trying to be a thing at this Democratic Debate tonight after failing miserably in the Iowa caucuses, and looking pretty crappy in the New Hampshire polling too.
Biden asks the audience to give Alexander Vindman, who was escorted out of the White House today, a standing ovation: "[Trump] should be pinning a medal on Vindman and not on Rush Limbaugh." pic.twitter.com/lMsHyaT8IQ

Hmmmm I get a whiff of planned applause there, they jumped in much too quickly on a story that few people know about, fewer people care about, and that had just broken in the last few hours. I can’t prove it, but I’d be willing to bet that the applause came from Biden flacks and staffers.
It doesn’t help that he mumbled through it, which is getting to be more and more what we see from creepy old Joe. Even Democrats have to admit that in terms of sharpness, Biden is no match for Trump, who speaks easily off the cuff.
