“I shouldn’t have said it,” said former Vice President Biden regarding his previous remarks about wanting to beat up President Trump.
That’s what he says now that there’s been some backlash. And now that President Trump insulted him back, putting them on the same rhetorical level. AND only after hearing some hilarious potential names for the hypothetical throw-down.
This was for the liberal Democrat podcast “Pod Save America” with former Obama and Hillary people like Jon Lovett, who was a speechwriter for both.

“I shouldn’t have said what I said. I should’t have brought it up again, but I don’t want to get back down in the mosh pit with this guy. What I did back when he was running, when he made these comments about being able to grab women in the private places and so on and so forth, all that. I was asked during the campaign whether or not I regret not being able to debate Trump. And I said, you know if we were in high school, and I did this again, I said if we were in high school, and he said that in the presence of my sister. I would take him behind the gym.
Now the idea that I would actually physically get in a contest with the President of the United States or anybody else now is not what I said and it’s not what this was about. The truth of the mater is I find the behavior, the talk, vulgar. I find it degrading. And I think what it does it does encourage the minority element of a male population to think that it’s okay to engage in the behavior the President talks about. So that was the context, and i did say, I used, again, ‘in high school’. I never ever at any time said I would like to personally, physically, etc.”
Yeah okay, Joe. Except you did want to talk like a tough guy, and your supporters were eating it up, until Trump said something back and made you think you sounded like him. Now you want play adult.
And come on. Joe Biden is talking about respecting women? That’s the pot calling the kettle handsy.

Okay not all of them were awesome, but Spar-a-Lago and Punchsylvania Avenue were pretty good. I would have added “The Rumble in the Bungle.”
