Judge DROPS 5 charges against David Daleiden over prolife videos, but he will face 9 criminal charges

So there’s good news and bad news with David Daleiden. A judge dropped 5 charges against him but he’ll have to face 9 other charges.

Pro-life journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, whose undercover investigations exposed Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in aborted babies’ body parts, will be criminally tried for their work.

On Friday, Judge Christopher Hite of the San Francisco Superior Court ordered the criminal case against the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) investigators to move forward.

Originally, the pair were slapped with 14 felony charges. Though Hite dropped five counts, he decided that enough evidence remained to try Daleiden and Merritt for allegedly violating California’s law against eavesdropping — the first time the state has brought eavesdropping charges against any defendant.

Daleiden says the other charges will also fail:

“The remaining charges under the California video recording law—the first and only time it has ever been used against undercover news gatherers—will fall for the same reasons that 5 charges were dismissed today: these were public conversations easily overheard by third parties,” Daleiden said.

Very interesting. I hope he wins out in the end. Here’s the truth he obtained, and why he’s being punished for it:

He was also ordered to pay $2 million to Planned Parenthood in another ruling from November.
