UPDATE: 11 wounded, 2 victims dead during active shooter at Naval base in Florida; shooter is also dead…

There was another active shooter this morning at a Naval base in Florida. The shooter was reportedly killed by deputies. They are also reporting one person is dead and multiple others wounded:

NY POST – A military base in Florida was on lockdown Friday morning amid reports of an active shooter — who was later confirmed dead by authorities.

Shots rang out sometime around 7 a.m. at Naval Air Station Pensacola, which was immediately placed on lockdown.

Around 8:45 a.m., the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Facebook that the shooter was dead.

The US Navy said one additional fatality has been confirmed and that an “unknown number of injured people were being transferred to local hospitals.”

The gunman was shot and killed by deputies at the base, according to Channel 3 News.

The network said Baptist Hospital confirmed it was caring for seven patients related to the shooting.

Two days ago we reported on an active shooter at a Naval base in Hawaii where a guard killed three people and then turned them gun on himself.

I pray the people shot in this incident fair better than those in Hawaii.

In the article above they are reporting that the gunman was killed by deputies. But I’m already seeing reports that the gunman may have killed himself:

UPDATE: I’m seeing reports that the number of people wounded was 11:

UPDATE: The Navy is now confirming a second victim is dead, bringing the total count up to three including the shooter:

We’ll update when we have more…
