JUST IN: Kellyanne Conway subpoenaed by House committee

Kellyanne Conway has just been subpoenaed by the Oversight committee after Trump blocked her appearance before the committee this morning on violations of the Hatch Act:

POLITICO – The House Oversight and Reform Committee voted to authorize a subpoena for White House counselor Kellyanne Conway after she failed to appear at a hearing centering on her alleged violations of the Hatch Act.

The White House blocked Conway from attending the hearing, prompting the Democrat-led panel to authorize Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) to issue the subpoena.

“Here, we have a clear-cut case of a federal employee violating federal law over and over and over again,” Cummings said ahead of a heated debate between Republicans and Democrats.

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel issued a report earlier this month citing Conway for multiple violations of the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from participating in political speech while performing their official duties.

Given how Democrats would have just used this hearing to attack the Trump administration, I can’t blame Trump too much for blocking her appearance. Democrats have made clear this year that they are hell-bent on using anything they can to hurt Trump in order to defeat him next year.

According to a CBS News producer, Justin Amash voted with Democrats:

The total vote was 25-16 so it clearly wasn’t necessary.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  1. Oh Elijah, just leave her alone. She doesn’t have time for this. She’s got all her attention focused on hosting the 2019 reboot of Tales from the Crypt.

    1. AT,when I saw that long stringy hair on the skull.I thought self, there is a huge resemblance.I am still chucbkling.I wonder if KellyAnne’s husband is working with Cummings on this one, still chuckling.

      1. Not just the hair, the whole head. I mean, it’s plainly obvious that it’s just rotten skull underneath that pathetically disguised skin-mask she’s wearing (badly).

        1. Thanks AT ,I wish more would see all that humor in many of your comments. If they did you would not be even be close to that number of Down votes. In this post to me you were going after Cummings and who has time for his silly hearings.Just my thoughts though.

  2. I keep saying, and will continue to say that the Trump team needs to go on the offensive and start exposing these cretins. The Dems need to be put on the DEfensive for all of their many crimes. They need to be kept so busy defending themselves that they don’t have time to keep up this charade!

  3. One of the Republican congresswomen made a case how Josh Earnest was also accused of violating Hatch Act, yet nothing happened with him.

  4. While I am not a Kellyanne Conway fan this just reeks of harassment. If she’s smart, and except for the thing she married she seems smart, she’ll take a page from the Hope Hicks debacle and show up with her lawyer and stymie the left every chance she gets.

  5. Pretty much a nothing burger that she could be fired for ,if the President wants to fire her,but I doubt he will.Good news here is Jim Jordan is the ranking Republican Menber, and with his support and her sharp responses she should do quite well

    1. How bout she appear, when everyone in obozos camp including obozo himself, face treason for violating the Logan act

    1. @muckjumper I think Amash will be “amashed” like a potato in an electric mixer in the next election

          1. And taking a stab at the cryptkeeper.

Also, I don’t care about the up or down votes. Never have. I rarely ever use the system or ever bother looking at them. What’s the point.
