It’s been a crazy election night in Kentucky, with Matt Bevin projected to lose his race for governor and Republican Daniel Cameron willing the race for Attorney General.
First the good news. Cameron won his race by 16 points, destroying his Democratic opponent, 58% — 42%.
Thank you to the people of Kentucky. It’s a great honor to be your next Attorney General and I look forward to hitting the ground running pic.twitter.com/wMl4fKZCe6

And it’s historic:
Congrats to @DanielCameronAG who just won the election in Kentucky to become the first African American Attorney General in Kentucky history and he’s also the first Republican to serve as Kentucky’s AG in over 70 years! pic.twitter.com/qaUmK0WuSe

The bad news is that Bevin is projected to lose the race for governor. With 100% of precincts reporting, he’s down by just over 4600 votes. But he’s announced he’s not conceding the race, citing irregularities that happened tonight:

Of course they are calling this a loss for Trump since he campaigned for Bevin. But other Republicans in the state did very well. It was Bevin’s race that was the problem, and apparently it’s just too close to call at this point even though his opponent,
Andy Beshear, has declared victory. In fact some are suggesting that if it wasn’t for Trump, his race wouldn’t even be close:
Bevin had a 30% approval rating, Trump showing up for a rally got him to ~50% of the vote. That's amazinghttps://t.co/TO08fQIF3P

We’ll see in the coming weeks if Bevin can reverse what appears to be a loss. For now, here’s a great video of Bevin dropping some knowledge on a reporter:
NBC: "You don’t have a vote on impeachment–"
.@MattBevin: "Is this a civics lesson now? You think I don't understand what the role is? …Ask the next 100 people who come in here if they care about this impeachment process…they find it to be a charade. It’s an absolute sham." pic.twitter.com/IaBlINSFbX— Vaughn Hillyard (@VaughnHillyard) November 5, 2019
