Trump has been very vocal this year in trying to push Congress to close the loopholes that migrants are using at the southern border to apply for asylum.
Just a moment ago Trump once again told Congress to fix the loopholes, except this time he’s promising ‘harsh measures’ if they fail to do so:
Democrats in Congress must vote to close the terrible loopholes at the Southern Border. If not, harsh measures will have to be taken!

I’m not sure specifically which “harsh measures” Trump is referring to, but I could imagine that it might include closing down portions of the border and turning all migrants away until we get this backlog completed and the border fence built.
What’s happening at the border now is completely unsustainable and the administration is looking for any way they can to alleviate the burden at the border.
But unfortunately it seems Democrats are far too partisan and radical at this point to actually fix the loopholes and fund the management of this crisis.
