Justin Amash suggested last night that he’s looking closely at a run for president. This came after he tweeted that “Americans who believe in limited government deserve another option”:

Amash is referring to the debate that Trump started yesterday when he suggested that only he has total authority to open up the states.
One of Amash’s followers replied to his tweet above saying “Please be you.” Amash responded that he’s “looking at it closely this week”:

What this would obviously mean is that if Amash decides to run he’ll do it as a third party. He’d essentially be playing the part of 2016’s Evan McMullin, who knew he couldn’t beat Trump and only wanted to steal votes to keep him from winning.
I hope he doesn’t for the sake of the country. Despite Trump’s personality quirks he’s been a good president and one I’d be happy to vote for a second time. Also it goes without saying he’s be far better than the socialist Biden alternative, which is ultimately who Amash would be helping if he decides to run.
