Karl Rove: Palin is hurting herself. She needs to get in or get out.

Rove was asked about the Fox News poll this morning where only 20% think Palin should run. Why Fox News polled that question I’ll never know. After all, they didn’t poll on Giuliani, Christie, Bolton, or anyone else in the same manner. Just Palin.

Rove believes the poll numbers reflect the fact that Palin is still in ‘tease’ mode, that she hasn’t officially decided to get in or out yet, and it’s hurting her. He says she needs to go ahead and decide one way or the other:

I don’t completely disagree with Rove as even I’m getting a little weary of waiting on the announcement. But I don’t really think it’s hurting her in any significant way. One thing I’ve always believed is that these polls don’t amount to a hill of beans at this point, that once Sarah Palin decides to run and people see her on the campaign trail mixing with people and giving speeches, people will flock to her (just like the media, heh). It’s just that simple.

UPDATE (Dan): I noted this in the comments, but just so nobody misses it: Bill Clinton didn’t announce his candidacy until October 3, 1991. Reagan waited until November 11, 1979. We know how those two campaigns worked out. Just a little historical perspective to keep in mind.
