Karzai demands soldiers who burned Korans be put on trial and punished

See what these groveling apologies from our president does to these radical nutjobs? It emboldens them:

CNS NEWS – Three days after President Barack Obama dispatched his ambassador to Afghanistan to hand deliver a personal letter from the president of the United States to Afghan President Hamid Karzai apologizing because U.S. forces at Bagram Air Force Base had mistakenly burnt some Korans, Karzai has responded to the gesture in a statement broadcast live on Afghan television.

Karzai, according to a BBC translation of his remarks made Sunday, told the Afghan people he was speaking to them after discussing the matter with “jihadi leaders,” “prominent scholars,” and Afghan elected officials, and that he spoke for the “pure sentiments” of the “Afghan nation” and the “Islamic world,” when he said: “We call on the US government to bring the perpetrators of the act to justice and put them on trial and punish them.

At the same time Karzai was demanding the prosecution and punishment of U.S. troops involved in the Koran-burning incident, he conceded that the U.S. government had indicated that the Koran burning “was not deliberate.”

“We all know that regrettably some days ago an American soldier burnt our Holy Koran,” Karzai said, according to the BBC translation. “We condemn this vicious act in the strongest terms. The government and the people, scholars, tribal dignitaries, spiritual figures of Afghanistan, the educated people of our country all share the people’s feelings. . . Our people’s sensitiveness is right and is laudable.” […]

“Today,” Karzai said, “we had a detailed session attended by jihadi leaders, prominent scholars, speakers of both houses — the lower house and the senate — the esteemed chief justice, vice presidents and other dignitaries and our government. We discussed the matter of the burning of the Holy Koran. Representing the Afghan nation and their pure sentiments, in fact the Islamic world, once again we call on the US government to bring the perpetrators of the act to justice and put them on trial and punish them.”

  1. sadly this is the culture over there, they want blood sacrifices, if you train a dog to fight don’t be surprised when it bites you

  2. Fine, every soldier come the hell home and let Afghanistan burn in hell. We should have made that place a parking lots years ago.

  3. The only problem here is the method of disposal. Pakistan throws them in with raw sewage, you here not a peep.

What the brass hats and other idiots ignore his those books could have each been filled with IED’s. The only way to dispose of the threat is to burn them.

  4. Ok..this has got to stop. Those people are nuts.

These mulims gotta be send to a re-education camp.
They won’t be released until they agree they’re either Baptists or Pentecostals.

    End of story.

  5. Where is Karzai (etc)’s outrage against those who “desecrated” the Koran by writing in it? I am just guessing but it would be surprising if they didn’t deserve stoning or something like that (according to Islam) for writing in that “holy” book. I haven’t heard any of that… Have they stormed the prison demanding that we turn those prisoners over for “justice” and I’ve just missed it?

  6. It’s not like they can’t print any more!
“We discussed the matter of the burning of the Holy Koran. Representing the Afghan nation and their pure sentiments”

Piss them off, these people will never be thankful, no matter how much is done for them, we are taken for fools and fools we are indeed.

    ……bring in Newt Gingrich.

  7. Hey mr. Prez…..your b.o. Is getting deadlier every minute. But we pray God protect you until after the election when you are voted out.

      1. I somehow think that if Biden was to be sworn in he would be mysteriously absent ( I do mean physically cuz mentally…well you know) as the 3rd person in line would be mzzzzzzzzzz billary, so no need worry about the biden affect.

        1. Well, technically Hillarious is 4th in line. Speaker of the House is 3rd in line – but that’s not much comfort… Boehner is a weannie…

  8. Newt is the only candidate covering the troops back on this one! And, his plan for oil independence has more to it than just lowering the price of gas.

  9. I think the real problem is that we didn’t burn enough Korans… Maybe we should vaporize a ton of ’em in a blinding flash that’d turn sand to glass… I know the perfect area in which to do this experiment, as well… 😉

  10. Newt Gingrich the only active candidate was once again way out in front of the curve on this issue. He called out Obama, and then was smart enough to warn the American people that we need to re-evaluate our ally position with Karzai & other so called allies in the area. If they are not true allies; leave.

He is the only person I feel can lead this nation in these times.

  11. “We condemn this vicious act in the strongest terms.” – Karzai

I have a solution to your outrage, Karzai. I recommend that we pull all our troops out tomorrow, send them home where they belong, and immediately cease and desist with our foreign aide to your pi$$ant little sandtrap.

Lets see how long your little corrupt regime will last without our ‘bigboy’ protection. Let the Taliban come on in and take over your government, putting your pi$$ant little head on a stick. See how bad the inadvertently burning a few Koran would be then, huh?

  12. Why in the hell was this “accidental” burning made public? Could it not have been handled internally? Obama is so incompetent! Now Americans will (and have) shed blood as a direct result of this ineptness by our President! Pathetic.

  13. Let’s take it to them or get out. No more apologies, no more help, just leave and only come back if they play by our rules.

    1. “And only come back if they play by our rules”. If you’ll leave that part off from your statement, CC, you’d have my full agreement.

  14. Out of all of the civilians killed in Afghanistan, the Taliban is responsible for three quarters of them. The difference is, they kill them on purpose.

In Islam, people are expendable. You can also trade several hundred Muslims for one Israeli, when negotiating prisoner swaps and releases. These kinds of swaps have been done repeatedly between Israel and the “Palestinians”. In other words, according to them, one “monkey or pig” is worth hundreds of Muslim humans. Sounds about right to me.

I am very thankful I was born to Christian parents in a civilized country. Hopefully we can keep it that way. We are way off track though.

  15. I cannot tell you how livid I am after reading this article on the CNS this weekend. When ever in the history of the USA has any 3rd rate leader of a backward country that is benefiting from the good graces of America think they have the balls to make this kind of announcement. All the men and women in uniform that have died, the tens of billions spent from countries around the world to put this dictator back in power and prop up his government and people and this is how they pay the world and especially USA back??
If Obama moves a fraction of an inch in the direction of putting these military members on trial then there should be a cry for his removal immediately. It would mean that Sharia law over rides American law and we are now cow towing to the 3rd world.
This weekend there was the assassination of two American officers in Afghanistan as well, it is time to either get out or increase the surge.
Islamic fundamentalism is the norm in the arab world not the exception. There are no moderates. You have to completey defeate and destroy them and make them tow the line like Japan and Germany after WW2. That is the only option because they respect nothing but strength. Not this wet noodle of a president.

  16. We need to learn from the Afganis, the next time prisoners use the Koran to send messages (i.e. deface the Koran), all in the prison should be beheaded and the Korans sent to Gitmo.

  17. Pull every single one of our troops out of there and let those barbarians fend for themselves. Put the military on OUR borders to protect THIS country instead of the crapholes on the other side of the world. We’ve been there for over a decade. The Russians couldn’t beat them, we can’t either. Karzai is a crook who has absconded with millions of “aid” money. We can’t fix the world. What’s the old saying—Charity starts at home? What we throw at despots like Karzai would pay down a huge part of our debt!

  18. I’m waiting for Gov. Palin to weigh in on this issue–then Obama can follow her lead, and get it right.

  19. With what we have as POTUS, who will be surprised if this happens?

And where are the republicRATS on this? Dead silent, not one word.

  20. Time to withdrawal our forces and let a-stan burn. Who is going to miss those barbarians when they’ve killed each other off? Not I……

    1. I’m right there with you… no more nation building. They have zero concept of democracy and we are wasting our time and our loved ones lives.

  21. Karzai Demands? He concedes the burning wasn’t deliberate? But his people burn bibles and that is okay? The educated people in Afganistan agree with him on punishing our soldiers? All 5 of the educated? In a nation known to be almost totally illiterate?
Here is a better idea. Put him in the fire! And his minions! He needs to be reminded just why he fears the night. American elite squads operate in the night. Very lethal squads. It seems he has forgotten how lethal those men are and how dedicated they are to successfully carring out their missions.
One name is all the reminder he will need: Karzai, think Bin Laden!
Where is a real leader for America? An American leader who is not afraid to see the world for what it is, and make the right calls? Why are we led by a cowardly and ego driven president and an inept Congress?
Something learned a very long time ago still holds true today, “if you can’t reach a peacefull conclusion through talks with a declared enemy, kill them! Trying to buy them off is the very face of weakness, and encourages them to kill YOU”! That is where we are today. Even our friends and so-called allies despise and ridicule us. It happens every time weaklings lead the nation.
    Like now.

  22. Quote: “See what these groveling apologies from our president does to these radical nutjobs? It emboldens them

And see what moderation & appeasement from the right does to the radicals on the left? It emboldens them.

  23. The Peace of Carthage looks better every day. My only concern is that, as it was on the day the North Vietnamese overran Saigon, how many Peter Jennings, or Tom Brokaws, on national tv will be at their near-orgasmic glory, their teeth shining so brightly as they had that wide grin on their faces, their eye reflecting the stage lights into the camera, and a joyous sound in their voice, while completely sweeping away any thoughts of those 58, 000 that died in the defense of freedom.

  24. They want to live in the 7th century, let’s oblige them. Remove our troops, scorch the earth even more than it is now, erect a large wall with traps and leave them with their religion of peace. In no time they will be desecrating more than some words written on paper.

    1. I have always said that if a country becomes a threat, destroy their infrastructure, and leave. Then do it to the next country. Eventually the governments will fear our tactics, and control their citizens. As it is now, we just go in, get killed, build up their country, and eventually leave broke and shamed.

  25. Karzai said, “we had a detailed session attended by jihadi leaders, Uh huh.

Karzai is the same one who said he would side with Pakistan if they decided to declare war on the US.

(@#$$%^&*)

NOW – Compare the burning with HOW ACTUAL MUSLIMS (more appropriately) TREAT THEIR SACRED BOOK – Pakistan – “Thousands of Korans dumped in sewer” http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2012/02/pakistan-koransthousands-dumped-in-poop-sewer-man-tries-to-clean-and-preserve/

WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE FOOLING? All the mobs in the streets, etc. are just propaganda. All they want to do is kill good people…who are trying to help them out of their hellish way of living, thinking and treating each other and other nations.

They burn churches, orphanages, bomb hospitals, rape nuns, kill and rape babies, enslave and abuse little children. All this has been documented. Even their Madrasas are places of abuse and torture.

These are the acts of cowards and devils.

Islam’s book and its practices deserve NO RESPECT. NONE.

      1. afaik that’s the number of individual jihad attacks, not the number of human beings killed. there is no accurate number for the latter; all we know is that it’s really really high.

  26. I’m depressed thinking that Obama might just be so callow, weak and accommodating of muslim sensibilities that these soldiers might be hung out to dry. There have already been several assassinations of our people by Afghan army members. Obama could think that just one more appeasement will do the trick.

      1. I hope this wakes some people up on the UN, and NATO issues. Our involvement with them is justification for all the crap they pull. Our leaders can’t abandon their boss’ now. They have some more global control to attain.

    1. Don’t be depressed, Donald. Get angry! Work to defeat the socialists in the White House and the Congress. Vote out the appeasers and compromisers. We, the People of the United States, are the ones being compromised by our leaders, as they appease our enemies. Ask yourself this question, my friend, Are you enjoying more freedom and liberty NOW then you were just 3 short years ago?

Our foundation is the Constitution, a rather uncompromising document. The language in every Section and Article of the Constitution has a definant beginning and end. Compare those to the open ended laws passed over the last 20 years that makes every citizen guilty of SOMETHING! Notice that the Obamacare fiasco forces you to do something you may not wish to do, and empowers itself to fine you if you don’t follow government dictates.
Or, the recently passed National Defence Act, passed by a majority in both chambers of Congress, that allows at the presidents whim your arrest, detainment, loss of legal council and all WITHOUT ANY CHARGE LAID AGAINST YOU!
Don’t be depressed, get angry and help throw these bums out of office. Replace them with people to whom the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence are sacred documents.

  27. Sorry Karzai! Your holy book is a rip off from the Torah and the Bible. If you want to charge our soldiers with the crime of burning the koran, we get to sue Muslims for plagiarism.

  28. The religion of perpetual outrage. Phony grandstanding is all it is. The masses of stone age idiots get all worked up and the first inclination of a Satanic cult is violence. It’s all they know.

      1. Because their Imam told them to be p.o.ed ~ The Imam is the instigator in these scenario’s. They issue the fatweh’s and declare jehad.

  29. Oh, eff it, Karzai. Why don’t you be the better man and show a li’l forgiveness? No? Not part of your doctrine? This is precisely where ya get, Showbama, when you show weakness to a thug (there’s a lesson here for Republicans showing weakness to another thug, folks).

  30. For the first time since 9/11, I’m actually wondering if my Commander in Chief is going to oblige such a request. That’s how far down the rabbit hole this idiot in the White House has taken us.

    1. Isn’t this just what the president wants: a trial … a showcase, like the show trials of old Moscow? He doesn’t want to apologize … he wants to grovel and debase a country he despises.

  31. Our Commander-in-Chief needs to get those soldiers out of harms way immediately followed by the rest of our military currently serving in that garbage dump of a country. If Obama allows those soldiers to be placed on trial, there may very well be violence in the streets here. That’s not a threat, just an observation that the proverbial camel’s back is under severe strain.

      1. i do not want to admit, but you are correct. more and more these times seem to be like those of 1930’s between england and germany

  32. They don’t need our money, they don’t need our protection and they don’t need our training and we certainly don’t need them. The only thing I see that seems to be needed is Obama’s position as our ‘leader’ to advance Islam.

We need to get out of there.

  33. I think the “I’m sorry” video that that lady made the other day effectively sums up my feelings about all of this. Put Maobama on trial for showing cowardice and caving to their unreasonable demands.

Maobama has made us all look like fools. And it sucks that our military men and women who were involved in this and who were no doubt following orders will be set up for a fall. Whoever “leaked” this out needs to be put on trial also and punished doubly. This is all a national embarassment, trumpted up by a complicit media and corrupt Afghanistan. Karzai has become the tail that wags the U.S. – shameful.

  34. No. I do not think punishing the soldiers is enough. As with Abu Graib this is a problem with the top. I expect Obama so surrender to Afghan authorities immediately . Obama must be put in the deepest darkest cell in the Afghan prison system.

  35. If all we are doing there is “nation building” then let’s get the h e .l out…It is not working.
Whatever happened to the mission of getting rid of the Taliban and Al Quaida?

    1. Nation building in Muzzy countries is ridiculous, and it’s absolutely tragic how many great young men and women have died as a result of this insane policy.

    2. Our military policy is to “Win Hearts & Minds”.. I’d argue they never had either to start with..

Obama should offer this turd 1 of 3 options:
      1. Apologize for the deaths and for insiting statements
      2. If you don’t do the first, get out of office or you’ll find a .50 cal round between the eyes
      3. See Ya f’er.. We’re beginning the withdrawal tomorrow. See how you fare against your idiot people that think you’re a puppet of our government. We’ll ship you a free case of K.Y. just for playing.

    3. The major battles over there are over resources and pipelines. The real war is over who gets their pipeline through multiple countries. A new government was needed to get one through Afghanistan. Another heated battle is the one that Iran wants through Iraq. Americans are sold that we are securing our country over there, while we manipulate governments and resources. The real fear is that Iran and Iraq will get together and put in the pipeline that Iran wants. The US has wanted to put a pipeline through Afghanistan since at least the late nineties.

Pakistan is short on natural gas, and Iraq discovered huge reserves in the late eighties. This was about the time that our government started the Iran war propaganda, and began its campaign on Iraq as well.

There are too many coincidences concerning these issues, and the war strategy, to be ignored. Many people are starting to realize this, and are getting ticked off. Myself included. Our government has no right to use our military for these purposes. It is criminal, and treason, as far as I am concerned. They shut down our oil production, making us more dependent on the middle east. It is simply criminal.

  36. The only possible way to make amends for this grave transgression is to promise that Michelle Obama will always be seen publicly in a burqa.

    1. Yep. This event has changed my mind. If Muslims are willing to TAKE A LIFE over the burning of Korans (which have already been “desecrated” by terrorists writing in them), then I have NO reason to even attempt to save them…they are already lost.

Just think…Muslims in America have YET to speak out against these killings…

      1. Some little good old fashioned “conservative understanding of how the world really works” is in order here: You can’t save a people who refuse to save themselves… oh you can try in your compassion to do so… but people can’t change what they refuse to acknowledge.

So yes… maybe it’s time to abandon Afghanistan. There’s only so much good people can do before good people destroy themselves in the process of trying to save the unsavable.

      2. I have daily arguments with various Muslims where I work over 9-11-01 being an inside job or not but they don’t talk about issues like this. They are too busy trying to turn the table of blame on the USA instead of acknowledging the risk and sacrifice we are undertaking trying to make their situation better in their homelands. I believe Islam is a religion of hate at its core. Sure there are some good Muslims BUT can a devout Muslim be a Good American? The answer is NO. To be a devout Muslim you have to believe in Islam first and foremost, not the United States of America.

        1. Point well taken. Islam is the antithesis of American values. It is their duty to wreak havoc on non-Muslims. Being a good American does not require a particular belief, it simply requires that you follow our supreme laws. Devout Muslims cannot, and the rest are not respectable because they just pander to Islam. They need to be rebuked and ridiculed in the public arena.

The only war we need is an intellectual, philosophical, and ideological one. Our politicians are wimps who fear telling the truth.

    2. The Wall Street Journal has a different story:
Afghan workers said they rescued the books from the incinerator and then smuggled them off the base to show to local leaders. That ignited an escalating series of violent protests that have targeted coalition military bases, Afghan government buildings, United Nations offices and other symbols of Western presence in the country. The U.S. has tried to mute the anger by launching an investigation and repeatedly apologizing for the occurrence. On Thursday, President Barack Obama expressed his “deep regret” to President Hamid Karzai in a personal letter to the Afghan president in which he vowed to hold to account those responsible for the Bagram incident.
U.S. military officials have said the books were set aside for destruction because Afghan detainees at the Parwan military detention center at Bagram were using them to trade messages and share extremist writing. But it remains unclear why the soldiers decided to burn copies of the Quran—a particularly incendiary affront to Muslims who view the book as the sacred word of God as relayed to the Prophet Muhammad
On the eve of Friday’s protests, Mr. Karzai and the country’s religious leaders tried to limit the violence by urging people to express their anger peacefully. Preachers in mosques across Kabul sought to reinforce that message during Friday’s weekly prayers.
“Those who burned the Quran are illiterate,” thundered a preacher in Kabul’s Khaled Ibn Walid mosque. “They don’t know what religion is, but for us the solution is not violent demonstrations that kill our own people.”
Similar messages in mosques across Kabul prevented chaotic anti-American marches from sweeping the city center.
Martine van Biljert, co-director of the independent Afghanistan Analysts Network, described the day as better than people feared.
