Kelly Loeffler, who lost her Senate race last night, chose not to object like she promised she would, blaming her change of mind on the rioting that took place at the Capitol today:
Loeffler rescinding her objection to the results: "The events that have transpired today have forced me to reconsider and I cannot now in good conscience object to the certification of these electors. The violence, the lawlessness, & siege of the halls of Congress are abhorrent" pic.twitter.com/qciGNEp2AQ

“The events that have transpired today have forced me to reconsider and I cannot now in good conscience object to the certification of these electors.”
I wasn’t a fan of the rioting at the Capitol today either. It was abhorrent. But none of that changes the truth of what happened in November when local officials and rogue courts in battleground states usurped laws passed by their respective state legislatures. The fact that she’s rescinding her objection just proves that her objection wasn’t really about objecting at all, but rather about her trying to win her Senate race.
Which is sad, because she becomes another member of Congress that refuses to do anything about the reckless actions of these state officials.
