KJP gets asked about Catholic NFL kicker’s speech and makes it all about TRUMP

Harrison Butker’s commencement address at Benedictine College addressed core Catholic and conservative beliefs on culture and faith. So naturally, when clips of it went around on the internet everyone on the left and in media (but I repeat myself) lost their minds over it.

Well not EVERYONE, actually. Whoopi Goldberg sort of defended him if you can believe that!

Butker talked about dangerous gender ideology being forced on kids, the hypocrisy of Biden in laying claim to Catholicism when convenient yet actively pushing pro-abortion and other “degenerate” left-wing “values.”

“Our nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people, it appears you can both Catholic and pro-choice. He is not alone,” said Butker. “From the man behind the Covid lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common — they are Catholic. This is an important reminder that being Catholic alone doesn’t cut it.”

When Karine Jean Pierre was asked about the speech, she of course, make it about Trump — whose name never came up or was even hinted at during the entire speech.

Q: Thanks, Karine. I want to ask you about a topic that’s getting a lot of attention. The Kansas City Chiefs’ kicker, Harrison Butker, is facing criticism for his recent commencement address, where he told female graduates that the most important title a woman could hold is homemaker. He was critical about surrogacy, IVF, and Pride Month, and he also criticized the President for being a Catholic who supports abortion rights. Has the President seen those comments? Does he have a reaction to them?

KJP: You know, the President has been pretty busy today, so I haven’t had a chance to — to focus on this particular issue. I think I’ve — I’ve heard some reports on it. Look, the President is not going to back away from supporting women and reproductive rights, reproductive healthcare. It is important to do that. It is important to fight for all of our freedoms, and that’s what you’re seeing the President do. He’s not going to back away from that.

And, look, I can’t speak to this specific thing because I haven’t re- — heard it in — in its entirety. But, look, you know, you have a former administration that — that had said — a former President that said over and over again that they were going to do everything that they can to get rid of Roe v. Wade, was successful in doing that by — by putting forward judges that made that happen — we saw the Dobbs decision in 2022 — and what that caused is chaos. It caused women to — to have to do — you know, to have to, you know, be in a position to not get the healthcare that they need. I mean, that’s — should not be where we are as a country. It should not be. And then you have extreme Republicans that continue to talk about — to talk about how they want to put a national abortion ban. It’s causing chaos. It’s causing chaos for women. It’s causing chaos for families. When you’re saying that a family can’t make a decision on IVF, that’s not what this President is about. He wants to make sure that women have the right to make these incredibly difficult decisions about their healthcare so families could make a decision about how they want to build and move forward with building a family. And so, can’t — I can’t speak to those direct comments, but what I can speak to is what the President is committed to, and he has shown that over and over again. And you have a Vice President that has toured the country talking exactly about that: about how we have to protect our freedoms and — freedoms of — of, obviously, reproductive health, as — as we’re speaking right now.

The question from the reporter was basically a plant, just a way for KJP to campaign for Biden via the White House podium — which you are not allowed to do by the way.

The collusion is everywhere. I don’t have the video but even the supposed “conservative” co-hosts of Whoopi were attacking Butker for his remarks.

Here’s the full commencement address.

This is the part that got the biggest freak-out:

For the ladies present today. Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly, because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.

How many of you are sitting here now about to cross the stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.

I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother. I’m on the stage today and able to be the man I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation. I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in being class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: Homemaker. She’s a primary educator to our children. She’s the one who ensures I never let football or my business become a distraction from that of a husband and father. She’s the person that knows me best at my core, and it is through our marriage that, Lord willing, we will both attain Salvation.

I say all of this to you because I have seen it firsthand, how much happier someone can be when they disregard the outside noise and move closer and closer to God’s will in their life. Isabelle’s dream of having a career might not have come true, but if you ask her today if she has any regrets on her decision, she would laugh out loud without hesitation and say, heck no.

They were like “how dare he call that a ‘vocation’?!?”

Only problem? He said the same thing about being a husband and father. “I have leaned into my vocation as a husband and father and as a man.”

Guess they forgot to mention that part.

Open, of course, in the thread.
