Knee-Jerk Republican War-Monger Robert Gates: I Have A Lot Of Respect For Hillary

On Meet The Press this morning, Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was asked about his views on Hillary Clinton as President, and his remarks about her in his new book.

Since the release of excerpts from his new book, Gates has been painted as a betrayer of confidence and a character assassin. The left and the media moved quickly to marginalize and minimize Gates for unfavorable comments about President Obama as his views pertain to foreign policy and national defense.

So it is interesting to hear this disloyal war-monger speak favorably of Hillary Clinton and her view on security and defense. “I have a lot of admiration for Hillary,” says Gates, and adds “I worked with her in the national security arena for two and a half years. I have a lot of respect for what she did and the way she conducted herself as Secretary.”

What this should tell the liberal left is that Gates isn’t observing in the same partisan bubble that they are. He is making a genuine judgment call. Obama’s weaknesses on defense and foreign policy should therefore be that much more apparent, and remain exactly as serious a deficiency as we on the right have maintained.
