Kurtz presses Kellyanne Conway on Trump tweets distracting from issues

Howard Kurtz does a pretty good job of politely, but firmly, pressing Kellyanne Conway on whether Trump is being a hypocrite by blasting the media for doing what he himself does – distracting by focusing on non-policy issues.

Watch below:

Kurtz just keeps pressing, and Kellyanne doesn’t really answer the question. She just keeps saying that everyone is wonderful and the media shouldn’t report on things that might damage the president, but only on whether the stock market is doing well.

Kurtz has a point – the media IS unfair, but Trump helps them distract from the issues when he tosses out tweets about Mika’s bloody facelift like a fisherman tossing out chum to a bunch of hungry sharks. Of course they’re going to obsess over that.

Trust me when I say that the American audience does not give a crap about policy articles. If that were the case then dry boring white papers would be clickbait, not Buzzfeed piffle. We try to entertain while supplying substance with our posts, but Conway is just spinning when she acts as if the public is starving to know more about the minutiae of the non-existent border wall, the health care bill that was hidden from the public for weeks, or a tax bill that hasn’t even been finalized. I guess that’s all the media’s fault too, huh?

Whatever you might say about the bias in the media, this is absolutely true: America would be much further along if Trump stuck to pushing his agenda instead of constantly “counter-punching” at his foes.
