Laura Ingraham: Politico responds to Sarah Palin

Mike Allen, responding to Sarah Palin’s blasting of his article, says that it’s important to publish ‘behind the scenes discussions’ they have with individuals even though the individuals don’t want to be identified. The problem with it is what we all know, that they could make up anything and cite it to anonymous sources – there’s no accountability.

Regarding this being a ‘hit’ piece, Allen believes that the Politico article is good for Sarah Palin and denies trying to attack her. He says that she probably doesn’t want establishment support and therefore this is good for her. Laura Ingraham challenges by noting that of course any presidential candidate has to have some establishment support for credibility’s sake and dismisses the idea that this is in any way good for her.

Laura is right, and Allen is just trying to spin this in such a way to protect his credibility. Problem is, his defense only hurts him in my opinion.
