Laura Ingraham suggests voters are ready to turn the page on Trump…

Yesterday Laura Ingraham said on a podcast that she believes voters are ready to turn the page on President Trump.

She suggests they’d rather have someone who has all of Trump’s policies, but who isn’t Trump.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday said Americans might be ready “to turn the page” on former President Trump as he decides whether to run for president a third time.

“People conflate Trump with people’s overall sense of happiness in the country. Donald Trump’s been a friend of mine for 25 years, and I’m always very open about this on my show. But, you know we’ll see whether that’s what the country wants,” Ingraham said during an appearance on Lisa Boothe’s podcast. “The country I think is so exhausted. They’re exhausted by the battle, the constant battle, that they may believe that, well, maybe it’s time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all Trump’s policies, who’s not Trump.”

This sounds like a hard tilt toward Governor Ron DeSantis. And as I’ve said before I would absolutely vote for DeSantis if he were to run.

But that’s the problem isn’t it? We don’t know yet who’s running and it seems unlikely that if Trump runs for President that he’ll be challenged by anyone solid like DeSantis or Cruz.

In other words, it’s complicated. Yes, I would love for DeSantis to sit in the Oval Office. But if Trump is the only good candidate running in the Republican primary then I am all about voting for him. He was a great president and I’d much rather him be back in the White House than anyone the RINO-right or radical left has to offer.

Also, I take issue with the idea that there wouldn’t be a ‘constant battle’ if Trump weren’t the candidate. Yes, Trump has been so effective that the left is always trying to destroy him, scandalizing everything he does. But the same would be true for someone like DeSantis. If he were to run and win, the left would scandalize him the same.

The media has proven to be the enemy of Republicans and that’s not just going to change if voters decide to ‘turn the page’ on Trump.
