It’s been really difficult to navigate between the two sides in the debate about the “deep state” bias at the department of justice and the FBI. It would be very helpful to hear from the FBI agents themselves about this matter.
And now we can.
Apparently the FBI has agents take periodic surveys, and Lawfare Blog sued to get one released to the public.
Here’s what they found:
SO…
It looks like FBI field agents were happy with what was happening at the bureau, up until 2016 when Comey announced they were looking into Hillary Clinton. James Comey is fired in May of 2017. And that’s when confidence starts dropping fast.
So does this mean FBI agents lost confidence because Trump was right? Or did they lose confidence because they don’t trust Wray? Again, it’s open to interpretation. And unfortunately, they don’t talk much publicly.
Here are the full results – feel free to peruse them and post what you think you can gleam from the poll about FBI agents’ attitudes to Trump and the “deep state.”
Go ahead and have an open thread, you lucky people.
