OK, so we talk about this at length on my podcast, and I have to say that I don’t agree with everything Jason Whitlock says here – but dang, a LOT of it is dead on.
He basically offers the alternate view of America from Lebron James, who emphasized its racism yesterday after some scumbag spraypainted a racial slur on his fence.

He’s right and it’s something that people ignore a lot – there’s tons of poor white people in America and they don’t get the benefit of white privilege, they just get the curse of poverty under privilege. Now, it’s stupid to say that there’s no racism in America, of course there is, but it’s absurd to exaggerate it too much. Like Whitlock says, it’s no use to “embrace your victimhood” like Lebron did.

Whitlock trended on twitter because of this – black twitter did NOT appreciate his comments. And it’s too bad, because it’s exactly the victim mentality that holds so many back….
