Senator Mike Lee said this morning that the Senate is very close to using the traditional filibuster, the standing filibuster, to try and pass the SAVE Act.
Here’s what he wrote:
We are closer than ever to voting on the SAVE Act in the Senate.
We are closer than ever to forcing Democrats to filibuster 24/7 on the Senate floor, telling the American people why they don’t deserve secure elections, until they drop.
We are closer than ever to victory.

What an amazing thing it would be to have Voter ID nationwide. Of course, it would be challenged in the courts and the Supreme Court would eventually have to weigh in, but it’s very common sense and I believe it would ultimately stand.
Also, just to point out, we also posted this morning CNN’s polling that reveals the vast majority of Americans, no matter the party, are for Voter ID. So for Democrats to tell the American people what a fraud it is for 24/7 would likely backfire, or at the very least, it wouldn’t do any good.
So let’s get on with it and get it passed.
